It takes exactly 4 hours and 33 minutes to travel from my sister in law's house in Whickham to my house in Melton Mowbray travelling at 50mph. I know this to be absolutely true as I did it last night as my missus hit a kerb and blew the front tyre on the car resulting in the use of the space saver wheel. I also know it takes me 2 hours and 37 minutes driving from my house to my sister in laws house. The learning to be taken from this is don't have to much ale at your Auntie's wake.
If it takes 2 hours and 37 minutes to drive TO your sister in-laws and 4 hours 33 minutes to drive back FROM your sister in-laws, does one of you live on a very, very steep hill?
Quickest long distance journey ever for me in this country - London back to South Shields in 3 hours 59 minutes. I was speeding a fair bit of the way obviously. Abroad - Las Vegas to LA in 3 hours flat.
That may be true, however muesli is the sh!te of the devil and taking 4 hours and 33 mins to get home is a beautiful experience between two old f@ckers who want to get home.
If the A1 is anything like it's been over the last few years then there were probably 50mph average speed cameras in force for most of your journey anyway. #roadworks #neverseeanybodyactuallydoinganywork
Hatfield to Widdrington Station, 278 miles, 3 hours 30 minutes. Have to do it in the evening though when all the dawdlers are off the roads.
I remember some years ago ringing the missus on her mobile to tell her that the traffic report has said there's a nutter travelling at 80 mph on the M1 going the wrong way. She said " One, there's facking 100's of them "
so this is why the road was being dug up last night along the highway when I got home by the way she didn't hit the stables last night did she, as I noticed this morning that they had all barrier tape around and scaffolding propping up the gable wall
