Welcome Malc. In the words of Barack Seamus O'Bama - "Yes we can!" We need more quality signings; to tie up existing out-of-contract players we want to keep; time to gel the side; a solid set of performances pre-season and last but not least a rocket-like start to next season, setting out our stall early and posting a warning to all comers that we're not going to be the pushover we've been for much of this season. I said at the start of last season, that I believe this campaign will be the one, and I'm sticking to that.
What a difference a couple of signings makes... It was all doom and gloom on here last week now everyone's full of optimism and excitement. There's still an hell of a lot of work to be done. Two new CB's, a LB, a couple more midfielders at least and one more forward... I make that at least six more players we need. I will allow myself to dream once i see a couple of good CB's come through the door. Until then i shall be keeping my feet firmly on the ground.
Yep want to see what CB arrive before passing judgement. If we have learned anything at all we must surely take a leaf from Brighton and Soton - the lowest conceders last season - 38 and 40 goals - and therefore promoted. Conceding 66 as we did will only get you SFA. We also need to find another 20 goals so still much work to be done
Well according to Slater they are going to give Chris Powell what he needs to secure promotion, so hopefully he can spend out!
Agree re 2 CB's..... and a LM, second striker, RB and creative midfielder. Once they are all in- I will dare dream.
