Thanks guys but do you think he could now do a job at United ?
I've always likened him to Paul Scholes esq but admittedly not as good... Thoughts ?

He's like Sterling for us 2 years ago.

Made to look twice as good by guy playing next to him having brilliant season.

Drinkwater has been alright and probably deserves a call up as we have no decent English midfielders in form atm bar Ali but hes clung on to the coat tails of Kante's cracking season.

Not at all, Drinkwater has been excellent in his own right this season. I am really pleased for the lad, he never got a chance at our place.

Hes been solid like Simpson, Morgan, albrighton but none of them would be talked about if Kante, Mahrez & Vardy hadn't had as good a season as they've had.

Drinkwatere like the the others have been towed along by those 3. He's played a part in it no doubt, but he's been a solid player nothing more. Midtable solid prem player but not international class.... Problem is not many of our midfielders are atm so I guess can't complain that he's involved

Think you may be understating the whole team there, Simpson and Morgan are half of the 5th best defence in the league, did those 3 pull the defence along too?
Yes Mahrez and Vardy have been the headline grabbers and Kante has been the best midfielder in the league, but the team as a whole have won most of their battles all over the pitch this season.

Glad he's been given a chance for England and he deserves a spot for the Euros on form, especially considering the other contenders are Milner and Henderson for that sort of role.

Will he repeat that form next season or the one after? Possibly not, but the bloke has had an outstanding season and there's a case for taking various other Leicester players. Vardy is a given but Simpson and Albrighton probably won't get in the squad and have had far better season than some players who will.

I like him, he's a good role model for children.
    Drinkwater, yes dad. Good kid.
Rooney, yes dad, stop poking that granny!

My earlier comment was 'obviously' sarcastic.

He deserves a call up - never gonna be the midfielder we need to lighten up a tournament though let's be honest. Him with Milner and Hendo as a 3 is enough to want to chop your head off whilst watching the paint dry.

That's a very good point. Drinking water is vital. He must have drunk Loads of water to finally get the call up.

The moral of the story kids - drink lots of water and one day you might be able to play in a ****e England midfield.

I would take Drinkbeer over Henderson in the England set up.

Great for the Drinkwater but the rest of Europe must be laughing at the prospects of facing him in the summer.

Probably about as much as we're laughing at the prospect of France/Italy/Spain choosing a midfielder who has had a good season at an unfashionable club i.e. not at all

He's a good player, but more of a Fletcher than a Scholes imo. Until his IBS, Fletcher was the epitome of a player performing above the level of his natural talents by being a committed pro. He managed to hold down a starting place in a team full of talented players, and contribute a great deal to that team, by his workrate and commitment to the cause.

Drinkwater is similar imo - not a player to set the world alight, but plays an important role in supporting and enabling those that do.
