i heard Torres was asked to take pictures of the European Cups before he left. Chelsea didn't know what a European Cup was

It wasn't obvious at the time but this was him practicing his one-finger salute for their major European title haul, the 1971 Cup Winners' Cup.

And Tomkins has this pic of Chelsea fans giving Torres a five-fingered one:

still shocked hes gone. well maybe not that hes gone, but hes gone to chelsea

cant believe what he said about him playing for a top club now. lack of class from him there

liverpool have already moved on though it seems. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/torres-leaves-liverpool thats really the only mention of your quickest player ever to get to 50 goals. doesnt really deserve a big farewell the way he engineered a move really though

A 606er has posted a few words from Giggs today:

"You've got to have done it on the pitch, and have that affinity with the fans whereby they know that you have always given your all," he added.

"Humbleness is very important - you have to remember you're lucky to be playing for, or to have played for, such a great club."

<ok> sounds spot on. not many players like that round nowadays. gerrard, terry (****), giggs, scholes are probably the last one club players you'll see. i cant even see messi being at barca for his whole career with the amount of money floating about the game nowadays
