No idea of what he is like defending but at 6' 4" he could be the big guy at the back that we are often lacking. Sadly Kiwi I would bet my house on it meaning Peltier at LB

 

Being the star CB in two consecutive championship title winning teams suggests to me he certainly knows how to defend. Peltier is so much better at CB though it's going to be one step forward, two steps back if we put him at LB again

 

Thought we dropped our interest in Tate as 'our priorities are in other areas now'. Said by Warnock after commenting on how well Pelts played at CB. Can Gorkks play LB? (only kidding!).

 

Maybe that's code for 'Tate was actually kind of ****'

 

Agree with kiwi. I think that's just a nice excuse to cover for the fact we sent Tate back for being a bit crap.

Morning all, not long left of this irritating window. Me, I'll believe all these stories when they actually happen. I also think the way White played against Spurs just shows when you fit a round peg into a round hole. Absolutely no point in Peltier playing at LB. He's a decent RB, & he's a decent CB. Let's stick to playing him there.

 

Would agree hence why the Gorkks rumour worries me as I fear Peltier will be back in the LB slot should we sign him.

 

So now it's Stephen Warnock, out of favour at Villa and cant get a game there. Villa who have worst defence in pl. Still wet shams trying to buy him so maybe he's worth a go. Might'nt sleep tomorrow night with all this excitement

 

So in other words, we need a very good defender who currently plays for a very good Premiership team to sign for an average championship team. Happens all the time.

Simon, why do we need another LB? White showed he is certainly good enough at this level & will only get better

 

So we can put him on the bench and not play him like Drury

I was attempting to reply sarcasticly to Eireleeds1 post about signing a player "out of favour at Villa and ....... who have worst defence in pl".

My point being that's about all we can hope for in our position. In other words, what decent defender playing for a decent Premiership side would want to move to Leeds ?

 

Well Drury's out long term, so if White gets injured that means Peltier goes in at LB, and I don't think anyone wants to see that happen.

Ah right. Well to be fair I think Warnock is better than his recent history has shown. Would have been an England regular if not for Ashley Cole.

 

He's been out on loan anyway, so he has no bearing on Villa's ****e defensive record. If anything he probably would help to improve it.

I must admit though, the thought of Warnock at LB replacing White is a better prospect than Gorkks moving into the middle and Peltier at LB - All we need to do now is sign both still play Peltier at LB and leave Warnock on the bench and White LM or RM

Still, he's not a bad player. Drury's far too injury prone and Sunday was the first time I'd seen White not make any obvious mistakes or give the ball away by needlessly running 40 yards down blind alleys...and Peltier is simply awful at LB, so we definitely need someone. Signing both might work - although surely GFH spending money (even if it's just on wages) must surely be out of the question?

 

My mate is Whites biggest fan, I have just been having a conversation with him stating the same, take away the Spurs performance and I would take Warnock in a flash over what we have been seeing.
