We haven't any left backs, but that problem will almost certainly be sorted by the time we play Villa, there's no way we will start the season without a recognised LB. We have 3 centre backs assuming Hector gets over the line, Kevin Stewart and Ola Aina can both cover there if needs be. Wingers is a position that I think we can safely say needs sorting, Evandro isn't a wide player, he's a CAM. Lenihan has looked ready all pre season, I've been really impressed with him and he can also play DM, I think this might be his breakthrough season. We still need another forward, two wingers and a LB. Which are exactly the players I think will come through the door in the next seven days.
Which Daws was the best Daws? I'm going with Andy. I don't give a **** that Michael played for Spuds and England, little'un was just unlucky not to be discovered earlier. ****ing **** scouts.
Actually that's a better question, who made more than 5 starts? Because players coming on for 10-15 minutes don't mean much.
You have 2 players for each position, to cover for injuries and stuff. Dave is injured but he's still a right back. Either sell Lenihan or send Aina back.
He's still a right back and this is exactly why you need 2 players for each position. Or should we revise that to 3 now?
Don't get me wrong, having to rely on McGregor in goal is the least of our problems; but I think my point about his injury problems and dip in form over the past two seasons stands. I'll happily admit I know very little about Aina - he may very well turn out to be a fine player for us - but his lack of experience at this level is surely cause for concern if we're seriously thinking of challenging for promotion. Most of the Liverpool fans I've seen talking about Stewart concur that although he has a very high work rate and brings physicality to the centre of the pitch, his technical ability is very limited. I haven't seen a single Liverpool fan who doesn't believe they got a good deal for him. Given the solid second-half of the season Huddlestone had last year and Tom's evident technical ability, I'd say Stewart's a sub-standard replacement. And I completely agree that last time out in the Championship we had, on paper at least, the strongest squad and nearly fluffed it. That is exactly why I am filled with an even greater sense of foreboding about our prospects this season. Not only is our squad of a lesser quality and depth than last time out, but the Championship is an incredibly tough division.
Someone has spent the time and put all this kind of stuff on wikipedia for each season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015–16_Hull_City_A.F.C._season
