The question is can leeds catch brighton or newcastle for the automatic promotion place ? to do it i think we need 2 more players a proven quality striker and man of steel in midfield in the january transfer window , calvin phillips although can play exceptional also makes silly mistakes , i think because of his immaturity so someone to cover that position, and also think we need to beat brighton and newcastle to get that 1st or 2nd spot which is not beyond leeds , whats your thoughts ? http://www.footytube.com/teams/england/leeds-united
Yes And no We need to sort out any loanees and get them signed if any good (sorry I've stopped following this side of things but I'm pretty sure there's some we need to keep ) Then we need to add, squad not strongvenough
I would be more worried about if we can we get to 50 points quickly, and then maintain a play off place after that. Then you can start worrying about top 2. There is no room for a dip in form given how close everything is between 4th and 18th.
A ten point gap is not a lot at this stage. If we win the next two games and a team we are chasing draw the next two we will reduce the gap by four points in two games.
Can we catch the top 2? Yes.... but then again so can many others. First priority is to tie up deals on the loanees and Monk himself. If we've got money left, another quality striker would be useful. Are we going to catch the top 2? Possibly. But we'll need some good fortune
We have a proven quality striker in Wood - Doukara, Roofe and Antonsson can all cover that position. We have a man of steel in midfield in Bridcutt - Phillips, Vieira can and have adequately covered that position. What we do need imo. is a creative attacking midfielder. Hernandez is a good player but hit and miss, he has also missed a few games through injury and I think it'd be safe to assume that he'll miss more as the season goes on. We do not seem to have anyone as effective as him in our squad so my priorities for Jan would be make Jansson and Sacko perm transfers and then spend everything else we have on an attacking CM. I actually agree with Chippy as well. Get to 50 points as quickly as we can and just take it one game at a time from there.
glad to see your optomistic , course we can brighton are under pressure they have to win their next match
They did last night in the 94th min, turning around the 1-0 deficit, like I said Brighton always do just enough. Perhaps you'll start to listen sometime soon, perhaps not though knowing you. The idea that they're worried about Leeds when both them and Toon are only thinking about being clear of the 3rd placed team.
