Koscielny was not offside. Neither was Ox. I've seen the replay twice. I don't know what planet you're living on, but that was a legitimate goal.
How was Koscielny meant to get out the way? It was completely unintentional. The goal is fine, rival fans are moaning because we scored a last-minute winner.
Looked like he did touch it at first but Sky replays showed he made zero contact. Also even about the handball there is zero chance for him to move out of the way so had the ref ruled either to let it stand or not IMO he'd have been justified. Then again I guess he just wanted to even things out karma wise for the 2 Burnley handballs in their own box.
Hard fought win by us which keeps us amongst the leading pack. As for the goal, sometimes you need a bit of luck and we got it, but it wasn't intentional. When you give the ball away like Burnley were doing in the closing stages of the match against top opposition then you will get punished. We did just that and took the 3 points.
The only thing is that I'm not 100% sure it was going in until Kos' arm diverted it though. But yes overall, it would have been really harsh to have ruled it out.
Ox said he touched it in his interview! Kos didn't know if it hit his arm. If so he needs to be rushed to hospital to investigate nerve damage.
If you look at the replays, Ox kicks Kos' foot, but Kos made the contact with the ball. It came up and hit his arm, but as @BrunelGooner has pointed out, if it was going it anyway, then it doesn't really matter. Valid goal, 3 points
Ecstatic with that late goal! As the game neared its end you could see Burnley start to panic a bit and we piled on the pressure with Mustafi becoming part of the attack and players trying to flood the box and go more direct. Ultimately it meant we got the goal even though it was a touch fortunate. When Oxocube came on I was getting really frustrated with how he was playing, he didn't look like he was putting in enough effort or closing the Burnley players enough for a fresh pair of legs, then he appeared to have got the winner. But on watching it back it was Kosc who hit it and his arm which finally out it over the line, so no offside but the handball could have been given either way and I don't think people could have any complaints. Mustafi is exactly the kind of player we need in this team, he is aggressive, vocal, passionate and not afraid to push forward and lead from the back when required. He cleared up loads at the back today and overall dealt with Vokes well. I was loving his crosses into the box at the end of the game too. Really pleased with him signing for us so far. We had moments where our final ball wasn't good enough and we looked a bit off the pace but we kept knocking at the door and eventually got the 3 points which is what matters most. (Loving that Walcott got his head to the ball to set that goal up as well, he is becoming much more effective attacking the ball with his head than he has been previously). Not a performance that will live long in the memory but could end up being important points later in the season.
Oh and another note on Mustafi, he got elbowed in the face (no card for that was poor from the officials), cuts his head open and gets up fired up and ready to play just wiping the blood away and wanting to continue before being made to leave the field to check the injury. Love it.
Mustafi is a leader. With him and Kos at the back, we've got a really solid centre, especially with Cech sitting behind them.

Throw back from the past. Gets battered, dusts himself off and then carries on at the same intensity. Nice.
Behave! He got caught very lightly with an arm and fell to the floor holding his face as if his eye socket had collapsed. When the ref didn't blow he jumped up ready and fit enough to fight someone, the ref then noticed he had knocked the head off a pimple at the side of his forehead and it was bleeding a bit. After leaving the pitch to have the blood wiped off his face with a bit of spit on a hanky, he returned minus any bandages or band aids and carried on.
