Trust in Rafa to go with a full strength side to get some confidence back in the side against a fellow Championship side after a couple of defeats. If I was him I would play all the 4 players we will lose to ACON for the full 90mins just to teach them a lesson for being African so expect Mohamed Diame (Senegal), Christian Atsu (Ghana), Achraf Lazaar (Morocco), Chancel Mbemba – (DR Congo)to be involved.
Perez left out. Mitrovic starting. Diame, Mbemba and Atsu all out at the ACN. Ameobi cup tied. Sels Yedlin - Hanley - Clark - Dummett Hayden/Tiote - Anita Ritchie - Gouffran - Lazaar Mitrovic 3-1 away win
Or this: Sels Yedlin - Hanley - Clark - Lazaar Hayden/Tiote - Colback Anita - Ritchie - Gouffran Mitrovic That could work. But it would be a 3-2 away win.
Wow, totally impressed. Just the right sort of information. Not treating the reader as an idiot with spoon fed detail but not going to the other extreme by failing to provide at least the basic detail required to understand what the thread is about. Much better effort. Have to say Chippy, your best effort this season.
Agree, Albert really has upped his game here. Must have been a new year resolution to make more of an effort. Just annoying that he's joined the stupid 'username-change brigade' to confuse us.
It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if we lost today. Our focus has to be automatic promotion so the less distractions and congested fixtures the better. Lets get some new quality signings in and give it 100% in the Championship before the chasers actually catch up, which they look like doing at present.
Hoping Sels has a good game, always felt like he got dropped at the wrong time after all the twitter abuse.
Disagree. I think we're a bit fragile after some ropey results and performances. We could really do with controlling this and picking up a comfortable 2 or 3-0 win. A cup run would help morale a little, we need a win in whichever competition right now. I have a feeling, however, we'll come unstuck. Zola loved the FA Cup and they've got fck all else going for them. I suspect we'll play same old 4-2-3-1 but make the worse mistake of putting weak players in and just hoping it comes good. The team to face Brum (not my choice mind): Selz Yedlin, Hanley, Clark/Lascelles, Lazaar Anita, Hayden Ritchie, Perez, Gouffran Mitrovic.
I too hope he can get some good game time behind him. Want us to have a good bank of keepers to call upon, should the need arise.
Team is: Sels, Yedlin, Hanley, Lascelles, Haidara, Anita, Colback, Tiote, Lazaar, Murphy, Mitrovic Bench: Darlow, Dummett, Clark, Hayden, Gouffran, Ritchie, Gayle
3 defensive mid fielders in Anita, Colback and Tiote. I am at a loss, why not give it a go with attackers, we don't want replays.
Radio playing the Stevenage debacle ..Tiote back in the team to get himself red carded within 10 minutes for old times sake and Colback to give away a mindless foul leading to a goal ..because ...Colback 442 by the looks of it ..would put Anita as RB and Yedlin as RMF (judging by the team list)
No offence, Rafa, but what the fook kind of selection is that??? Under Pardew, this selection would have been utterly lambasted as "not interested" in the cup.
Agree, we aren't interested given that team selection. Also trust the Mitro snipers wont judge him on this game if he doesn't score today especially with that team Any streams? Cue river jokes.
I was in Birmingham last night for a Chinese meal, was looking at the menu and asked the waiter " what do you recommend from the Specials? " He said " Too much foo yung "
