Charlton have 1 of the best away support in the league without doubt. But others like Wednesday i was quite dissappointed tbh. The only good fans at the valley this season were brighton and that was because they won 4-0 ì_ì.
Charlton have the best fans in the league You bought like 300 to St Marys and were really quiet We filled your away end with 3,000+ and provided the atmosphere, I'm guessing you just voted for yourself because no one else would?
Not really, apart from night games we fill out a lot of away grounds. We had a rough spot from february onwards so atmosphere died.
It is not really hard to fill the away ends in league one, all the stadiums only have 1,000 - 1,500. Good away fans support mid week as well, not just at the weekends
Considering we're still up there with the highest attendances in the league after the last 5 agonising seasons is testimont to how good our fans are. You only brought so many fans to the valley because it was originally a boxing day game and you still had it all to play for, but when we came to yours, moral was pretty low and it was midweek, so not really a fair comparison. On many occasions though, even if we didn't have an enormous away following, we were still the loudest fans in the ground.
At every away game I've been to, opposition fans have complimented how good and loud our away support is, despite a shocking season (and 5 shocking seasons prior to this one).
Not going to lie, our away attendance is pretty rubbish in terms of numbers. Only allocations we've sold out on would be Orient, Southend(season before), Millwall and possibly Brentford? We make good noise when there, but 450 Charlton fans aren't going to out sing 20k Soton fans, are we now?
Taking this seriously I have to say that the monkey hangers were good entertainment value during a boring and meaningless end of season game. Walking to the ground and seeing fans dressed in what originally appeared to be Santa outfits (in May) but materialised as Oompah Loompah's inside the ground left me wondering what had been in my pre match cup of tea (i drive a fair distance to get to the valley). Their continuous support for their side and good natured banter before and after was the best I had seen for a few years.
Not in this league, but i voted for Charlton, as they were decent when we played them in the F.A cup. Only brought about 400 but made quite a bit of noise to be fair.
Saddler your joking right? We outsung your lot for the whole 90 minutes, despite watching possibly the most boring game of the season.
Thought that Huddersfield and Brighton were the loudest teams down The Valley this season. Southampton only had one song, and only piped up after they scored.... We sang for full 90 minutes, and completely drowned them out towards the end, when we were owning the game.
Think it'd be a bit rich voting for Charlton... the Gasheads are always good for a bit of banter and have a good ol' sing-song, shame they went down really.
