He's back training with us, It's a surprise to be honest, I didn't think it'd happen, I'm glad he and Jose Mourinho have settled their differences.

Mourinho probably (finally) realises that he's better than Fellaini even if he's had one of his legs chopped off.

He even said he and Mourinho don't have "personal problems."

Tbf i always thought Schweiny was great for you guys. He can pass and he's good defensively, basically like michael carrick. Both are old and immobile now but both good passers and can play the holding role.

I'd rather have Schweinsteiger than Fellaini in our squad.

Time for change, this could be a good sign he is about to mix it up

I mentioned Schweinsteiger a couple of weeks ago.

It's embarrassing the quality we have in midfield and aren't utilising it. The subs bench for the game against Burnley was a ****ing joke.

And I'd rather have Schweinsteiger ahead of Fellaini or Rooney in midfield.

You really think that you have an embarrassment of riches in midfield? Schweinsteiger and Carrick aren't very mobile. Fellaini is dog **** and Rooney isn't a natural midfielder.

Schneiderlin was great for Southampton but has been cast aside. I haven't seen enough of him to judge at Utd and the only thing rich about Pogba is his fee.....although am sure he'll improve.

maybe I've missed someone but from the above, only Pogba probably has a future (under Jose)

Herrera was a miss. Lingard and Mata are wingers more than CM's.

Mata is in no way a winger and Lingard is actually better at 10 than on the wing.

Mata is a funny one. That season he was player of the year at Chelsea he played in all 3 positions behind the striker in a 4231. He's definitely much better going forward than backwards. Not a proper CM.

Schneiderlin, Mata, Herrera, Pogba, Schweinsteiger, Mikhytarian and even Carrick while he's with us. Plenty of options in midfield.

What needs sorting is the role they play. Pogba is not an attacking midfielder so stop playing him there! He's a box to box mf. Schneiderlin hasnt been given anywhere near the game time he deserves. Now Pogba is out injured Schneiderlin should be playing that box to box role.

Next to either Pogba or Schneiderlin you play either Schweinsteiger or Carrick or Herrera.

In front of them in AM play Mata or Mikhytarian. Or Herrera if he's not in CM.

    Really not difficult at all.

The discussion was about midfielders, not specific areas.

Exactly... and this happens time and time again because him, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger are the forgotten men. And for me, all 3 provide more balance than some of options Jose is trying to shoehorn into the side.

Where our problem lies is on the wings. Martial, Rashford cant help but drift in. That's why we dont stretch defences. And also why we're trying to thread the ball through the eye of a needle with our final pass.

That's because Rashford is far happier through the middle (even though he played RW for most of his youth games) and Martial would be better suited to the RW as he can't cross with his left foot, hence he either cuts inside or goes right to the line inside the area and tries to cut the ball back with the outside of his right foot, he too would be happier through the middle.
Memphis is another winger we play on the left who has to cut inside to shoot or turn back to put a decent cross in with his right foot, I would actually like to see him given some time on the RW.

Why not, we're pretty **** on the RW.

I think the team just needs balance. Been watching football far too long to know that there's very little that's changed inside 3 months from the potential of this side that was being talked about in the summer. IF we're in the same position in a year from now then fair enough and I'll be the first to say it. But at the moment I really don't think we're far away from gaining momentum this season. And if Jose gets it right we'll be very good indeed.
