We are apparently in formal talks now. £6.2m fee. He's an upgrade on Gouff so It's a yes from me. He's alao cery famous in Africa so it will be good for Commerce too.
Not a massive fan of you tube scouting, but I have also bought this kid every year on Football Manager, so its fool proof! This Pavon kid is the next big thing!
For me it's an absolute no brainer, if the 6.2m is the actual price it's a bargain. who else could you get for that money with his quality? Granted he would be used as back up but I would rather have him than say Gouff or Ameobi. One of them will be sold to help pay for the deal.
Sometimes he does well. Sometimes he is bloody awful. Can beat a man, has a bit of pace, not great at defending, and overhits most of his crosses. If he's signed it should not be at the expense of another (better) winger being brought in. I honestly think most Premier League defenders would have him in their pocket. Here's another angle though. He has one year on contract left at Chelsea. I personally think £6.2m to buy out 12 month's of an unproven EPL reserve player's contract is too much. Probably half of that would be fair.
I think we are going to have to get used to these some what inflated prices this summer. At the end of the day rafa knows his stuff and if he thinks he is worth it we have to back him.
Reminds me of Traore from Boro. Lots of pace and on his day can fly past players but then smashes it 40 yards high and wide.
The problem is that the £3m you have in your head IS £6m-£7m now. It is this summer that we will really see prices hike up thanks to the new tv deal. It hasn't really started yet, but this summer I think we are going to see some very very average players going for the sort of money gthat would have bought world class players a few years ago.
Id agree on that. 6m is pennies now. Time to raid the german league before Fox sports starts paying them a fortune too.
Think he is a good option as back up on the wing for £6m. If 2 of him Aarons and Sameobi are the back up to Ritchie + another I'd be happy with that.
