3 games left to go and top 4 is well under threat. How did a season go from being title challengers to fighting for top 4 with three games to go, well, that has been the sad story of Arsenal over the last few years has it not? Not only did we blow the title race, we also blew our chance at coming 2nd. I guess we're supposed to somehow get motivated and behind the team to ensure we get that top 4 spot, but a big part of me could really not give a **** anymore, tired of finding ourselves in the same predicament every single damn year, and in the grand scheme of things as we have witnessed before, securing top 4 never amounted to much other than another season of fighting to secure top 4 again. So yeah, top 4 is under threat, we need to win this game, but meh, who gives a ****, I guess Wenger and Gazidis may think this is a massive game with everyone having to turn up. The mighty Arsenal, we pay the highest tickets in the land to watch our side fighting to make fourth sport, can't get any more fantastic (miserable) than that. Team news for this game, who gives a ****.
Wenger now says it is our fault that we are not champions. According to him, away from home we are league champions (Even though the facts show we are 3rd). And we struggle at home due to hostile atmosphere. A man that sees a top 4 place as the ultimate prize, can't recognize actual first place. I'm done... please log in to view this image
“We lost the championship at home against the lower teams, but we played at home in a very difficult climate. We have to realise that, away from home, we are championship winners. At home, against the smaller teams, we lost the league. This club does have special values though and one I've experienced over the years is to stick together and support the team. There's no success without that please log in to view this image . We have to put what we have achieved into perspective and see the revolution that has gone on over the years please log in to view this image . The quality of our work has got us to a position where expectation is high and frustration is high when they don't get what they want. It is very frustrating, we were in a position where we could compete, we wanted to go a step higher [after finishing third last season]. It was possible, that's why we're frustrated. I understand that, nobody is more frustrated than we are. We will fight whatever happens, go for what we can achieve, our disappointment should not go too far. This team has character and attitude please log in to view this image , some people question them, but I know them and they [the critics] have less character than this team have. This club has special values, and one is to stick together and support the team – there is no success otherwise please log in to view this image ." A laughable statement from our manager. The bold, underlined parts are particularly baffling. Championship winners away from home? Is that a new trophy he's invented? No success without sticking together? There's no success full stop dude. Revolution? What revolution? Character and attitude? Do you even know what that is? Have you watched Spurs and Leicester? You know that your critics have less character than your team?! What is this, a primary school playground? Absolute maniac.
What a load of bollocks, it's this kind of bollocks that he spouts which pisses a lot of people off, including me. Rather than coming out with lame excuses, he needs to concentrate on football. He can come out with all the nonsense he wants but everyone knows, including non-fans, that the team has serious character issues. We went off a cliff in January and never quite recovered. This is due to a lack of character.
Headline on BBC Football site has Wenger saying 'Emirates atmosphere cost Arsenal title' This guy is still blaming everyone and everything but himself. He has been the master of lame excuses for far too long.
It's almost like he's sticking two fingers up to the supporters. The truth is he can say and do anything and nothing will get him sacked at the moment. He is untouchable as long as he keeps on getting those top 4.
not the most sensible of moves on his behalf-in danger of alienating the small amount of support he still may have
