We have some cash reserves, but it's not a transfer budget. I understand that we are not run like Chelsea or City who are bankrolled by their owners and we're not run like Utd who have loaded the value of the club against one mega debt, so I guess we are always going to be more cautious than those clubs. But the board have repeatedly said that the transfer budget is there for Wenger to buy the players he needs. It's ****ing frustrating, because Wenger is a really good manager, if only he would be less conservative in the market, then I think he could build another title winning team.
Cataclysmic defending for 18 mins. The inexperienced CB's lost their way a bit, and the full backs didn't help. It was a cracking game though.
Have to say it was nice to finally get a win at yours after a while, i thought you started better & controlled us for the 1st 25mins then i thought it was pretty even until Moreno decided to kung fu tackle Walcott in the box he really is awful. (besides the pen he was at fault for 2 goals in play too) Unlucky with your injuries btw, obviously lots of talk regarding the resting of euro players or whatnot but i dont think the cbs were to blame completely, not much they could do with both of coutinho's goals tbf. it was an exciting game tho, best of the opening weekend, cheers
Irrelevant as I didn't ask if you wanted it to happen. It's about why it would be so bad to your life if it DID happen. Why are you scared of finishing outside the top 4? Ultimately what bad things will happen in your life if it happens?
Then you're just as much a liar as PISKIE. I've said MANY managers, not ANY. Find me a quote of me ever saying ANY. I'll be waiting.
Charming. As with Piskie, I ain't going to trawl through thousands of posts just to highlight something all three of us know you posted, only for you to then make some pedantic argument about it. I've got better things to do with my time tbh.
What a very odd question to ask. If Arsenal finished 10th for 5 seasons in a row I would be gutted. I'd still support them of course. But why go backwards ? Maybe I'm asking the wrong person though, as you've already said you 'couldn't care less if we got worse'
please log in to view this image Little bit from column A, a little bit from column B. Can we get back to the footy now lads?
So confirmed still that at no point did I ever say ANY manager then. Piskie and Smirnoff pants on fire...
Well based on the evidence I've seen, it's not clear to me that he has. But to be honest, even if he did say that, it's one person. Is it really worth regurgitating the same lines just because one person may or may not have said something like that? It just seems a bit unnecessary. That being said, I do think there are a sizeable number of managers who could replicate, or surpass, what AW has done in the last 12 years. Judging by the comments on this thread and multiple others, it's not just me who feels this way.
By 'sizeable number of managers' will Piskie and Smirnoff assume you mean 'any manager' I wonder. And will they admit they were wrong I wonder...
Piskie and co will say that most couldn't. Whilst i agree with them in respect to replicating what Wenger has done on the budget he has decided to use, i think there are quite a few who could do much better given that they would probably use the budget given rather than using a fraction of that budget
