The rumours amongst the Sarf London Mafia are predicting that Ian Hendon is being lined up as the next Gill's manager. He has attended recent matches at Priestfield apparently( Not for pleasure obviously). Ian first appeared here in 2009 - 2010 season helping Stimmo behind the scenes with coaching etc. After relegation and the sacking of Stimmo he was invited for an audience in Dubai with his Highness the Pasha of Scally Waggy along with Andy Hess.So Ian's efforts had evidently caught the Chairman's eye while he was here. They were both offered and accepted the vacant job, but Hess was to be the Uber manager. At the last minute Hendon jumped ship quoting 'personal reasons' which were never explained. Hess soldiered on alone and failed to gain a play off spot.Ian was subsequently head hunted by Big Sam at West Ham for his coaching team. Hess & Hendon later met up once more at Orient, this time Hendon was Uber Hess until he was sacked and replaced by Hess; who was later very publicly kicked up the arce by the Orient Chairman and later got the gooner himself. So will we be swopping one old boy for another? God help us.
From what I gather Hendon was offered the job with Pennock as joint Head Coaches back in January but he pulled out as he wanted full control at the 11th hour.
I've head that we're bringing back Iffy and the Doc, with Nurse Stimmo and Janitor Jepson in support.
