http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40454293 Can't wait till he becomes **** hot in 3 years time and we have to buy him back for £60m.......
I'm pissed off with this. He's a good player now and should be pushing for a place in our team I can only think that there are a few defenders coming in to the club.
Probably a good deal all round. With the players we've been linked with, it's clear Conte wasn't going to start him next year. Solanke, Traore, Ake, Bamford. Our youth setup is certainly paying dividends for everyone else!
You forgot Bertrand Yeah if he wont pay its best to cash in. We are 2 CB's down now though, with Ake and Terry gone. Need to make a signing
I was just focusing on the ones we've lost this year otherwise we'd be here all day!! Linked with Rudiger at Roma now accordingly to sky.
This is getting silly. I was hoping with Jose gone, that we would start to see some fruition from all these academy players, and not just in terms of ££
There's a buy-back clause- no idea how much for though. Getting £20m will justify hoovering up any child who can kick a ball on the off chance someone else turns them into a footballer. Looks like you've signed Ampadu, the next next big thing. Vitesse Arnhem will be ecstatic.
Theres more chance of Leicester winning the Premier league again, than there is of that kid ever pulling on a Chelsea shirt and taking the field for the Chelsea main squad. A year in the Championship, 2 years at Vitesse and then its off to West Brom or Stoke ya go, kid!
But at a profit so makes sense even if it's immoral. They need to cap the number of players clubs can have in an age group or something. Currently there's next to no risk and lots of potential reward.
Chalobah looks like he might make the switch to Watford. The trouble is, with so many genuinely top class players, the kids just don't get a look in. You really have to be out of this world to get a shot these days.
I get that part, but our academy kick arse. They do really well at Youth level, winning Youth FA cups, won the Youth league season before last aswell, yet none of them ever become first team regulars. Bertrand looked like he might, but then we flogged him, we had Cole at the time but he was getting old, it was very short sighted, we had a ready made replacement for him....utter bullshit. Then Kakuta and Traore look like the real deals, do really well on loan, then boom, gone...... Bamford I dont think ever had what it takes to cut it at this level Ake looks decent, does very well on loan, we recall him for half a season , use him like twice, then off ya go kid.......its frustrating as ****. When you look at Southampton, Spurs, Everton etc, all bringing great players through.......
Thats the point though, they are never given the chance to show what they can do. Do you think Harry Kane would have been given the opportunity to shine if he was at Chelsea? No, we would have loaned him to West Brom, then sold him 2 seasons ago for £12m, then be looking to buy him back 4 years later for £75m. It bad business sense.
Bertrand was a huge error. He played in the CL final for christ sake! How do you let a player from your academy leave who has won the CL?
Ake would have become an upgrade over Alonso or Cahill any given day with a decent run of games. Sandro at 60M pounds will be madness and will become another Torres bogged down by crazy money & expectation. Sandro is good for 30 to 32.5 Million pounds, nothing more.
It is crazy to give grief to Manu for letting go of Pogba who has become more of a dud. But our Personnel management has let go - KDB, Lukaku, Bertrand, Ake et al . Our list is endless & listless !!
