I have just explained to Hornette why I have decided to quit with immediate effect not only as mod but this board.

It is so telling how dialoguing on message boards such as these can touch nerves and our sensitivities.

I have certainly experienced with SH and his apparent insensitivity to the feelings of myself and others. However this time i have not risen to any baits and have been more detached.

Difficult really to say how personal any of this is as it is 'personas' on message boards... but clearly over a period of time a number of posters have been hurt or angered.

I think investment by others is different. Some will drop in and then go others, myself included, will be much more active and seek to work through issues etc It is not really the best forum for that sort of activity.

My request really to us all is to lighten up, enjoy the banter and to not personalise others posts as we don't know each other. in real life.

Leo, I'm sorry you won't see this, but feel the love from the vast majority of posters on this board! <hug>

You seem to have less concern regarding sensitivity when being aggressive to others. There have been several posters bullied off this board by anyone daring to express views right of centre.

I agree, keep the banter lighthearted and just argue the points not the poster.

But that is the problem SH.... someone makes a dig, doesn't realise the effect, and a person responds aggressively. And actually you are i think the only person that has happened to for me....as i have no interest in hurting others

Perhaps people can actually learn from this for themselves without seeking to blame others?

In my view, the loss of Leo is too high a price to pay! :(

I certainly have no interest in hurting others. I post because I enjoy the debate but also try to counter the domination of left wing and anti Brexit views. There should be no room for cliques and bullying of any poster. let us debate the issues, not attack the poster. Hopefully if we all cut out the nonsense then Leo may return at some stage.

Leo, the cup is half full, not half empty. There will always be people in this World who get a kick out of winding people up, that is the way of the World. But they are in a minority. If I live in a village where there are a couple of 'bad apples', do I leave all my friends there as a result ? The answer to that would be a categorical no.

Well, that got out of hand quickly!

This forum is losing numbers quicker than Watford are losing points.

Maybe we should all try to get along!

Maybe we should close all the political threads. No-one is going to change anyone else's views anyway.

i try and stay out of religion or political threads. We are not here because we lean to the right or left . Debate if fine but i have seen people leave because of nice people ganging up on someone just because they have veiws which are not left of center. im sure alot would not say anything like they have face to face in the pub .RANT OVER
