Was it a good performance? I am happy with a point, but could have been a win. Kaboul got skinned for their 2nd. Good to see TD9 on the scoresheet.
It was a lot better than some recent efforts, passing a little better and more pressing. Cleverley made a difference. We also scored some goals. Still some suspect defending. Troy seems to play very deep. It's not very obvious to me what Mazzari is trying to do. Thanks guys and see you next week.
"There's only one Graham Taylor" almost deafened me at times. Great vocal support from all that were there.
Did anyone think them playing on when Kabesele was down when they scored their 2nd was right or wrong? I always think playing on is fine if the player is trying to gain an advantage by going down. I'm not sure which is right in this case.
Kaboul's positioning seems very questionable at times. Why is Troy so deep? Is it because he lacks faith in those behind him, or does Mazzari? Or is striker Troy gradually turning to CB, Marcus Gayle-style?
In true wenger style, didnĀ“t see it to be honest although noted he was on the floor when they put the 2nd in....
I thought Kaboul looked better today, then he just let the scorer past him. TD is not the tip of the top 3, played out wide today a bit. Okaka was dire today, pure champ striker...
Sure, re TD. But I almost would've preferred Ighalo there (instead of Okaka) today. He has pace. That said Okaka does hold up pretty well and is a strong lad. I guess I'd like to see a two up front, play less deep as a side. As the GT used to say, they can't score if the ball is in their half. But given our defensive frailties, playing deeper in a game like this is inevitable. It's a sophisticated game, this... GT: "I don't like the word sophisticated... Football is not a sophisticated game..." Sorry, GT. You are always right.
My commentary said that Okaka looked as if he was carrying a piano on his shoulders he was so slow. The only thing they could see in his favour was his size when it came to set pieces.
