If Wenger lasts until 2023 he will match Sir Alex's record as longest serving manager in recent memory... Here is a list of longest serving managers in league history. Be great if AW can match JB Bromerley at least, and possibly Arthur Dickinson. https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/longest-serving-manager-english-football-history
Wouldn't he need about ten more league titles and a couple of champions leagues to 'beat' Ferguson? Admittedly, Ferguson can't hold a candle to Wenger's Emirates cup record.
"The only other manager to serve for more than 40 seasons was George Ramsay, who managed Aston Villa during their most successful period in history, between 1884 and 1926, and retired at the age of 1971." This guy must have been Connor McLeod or the like.
I'd love for Wenger to go on become the longest serving manager in Prem history. Sadly, however, that is the only record of Fergie's that he is likely to "break."
Thing is, of course, that Fergie stayed on for so long because he kept winning titles and European trophies. Wenger is staying on because Mr Chippy wants a new ranch.
You mean apart from the all time FA Cup final wins for a team that Fergie had previously set with United? Pssst ... football knowledge ... best steer clear
Look, it was a feeble attempt at wummery, okay! It happens, occasionally. Maintaining my standards takes constant practice.
