Everybody was saying it was like Mourinho took his chains off, Conte must be a right ****.

 

Well since Conte took over at Chelsea he has signed five defensive players, two goalkeepers and only two attackers (neither of whom he seems to trust to play). He's also sold almost every Chelsea midfielder who scores more than one goal per season, and is apparently furious with Fabregas because he can't tackle.

Seems pretty clear what Conte expects from his midfielders. Get that handbrake on tight lads...

 

They're going to be relying heavily on Hazard again this season, if the lad decides he can't be bothered again they're in trouble.

Conte's rep will be in tatters because it's all his own doing, he said he doesn't know why they sold Matic, obviously he does know, he's told Matic he'll be a squad player and no more... tough **** innit.

 

I dunno, seems like there is more going on at Chelsea than Conte's bad management. Apparently Matic's agent told Mourinho Chelsea were willing to let him leave before we even got interested, and now Hazard might be going to Barca.

Conte seemed pissed as **** that Chelsea sold Matic out from under him, if they do the same with Hazard now he's told Costa to **** off then he'll completely dismantle the core of the squad. Wonder if Abramovich is flogging players to raise the cash for his upcoming divorce settlement? Either way, it seems clear he's not willing to prop up Chelsea's spending any more and expects them to sell to buy.

 

There's definitely unrest behind the scenes, that's why I don't think it's over for Costa there because Conte could snap at any minute and leave/get fired. Champions don't get banged 3-0 in 45 mins by Burnley if your team are in perfect harmony. Conte oozes panic and anxiety, he's always looked a twitch away from a nuclear meltdown.

The Lukaku thing has knocked him for six.

As i said before Matic is a solid player, he won't be the main passer ala carrick.

Lukaku has changed you guys though, now you have someone with pace up the middle, your counters did like frightening. If Jose keeps that attacking intent you will bag loads of goals like chelsea 2014-15

I never said he was past it. I said he was a solid player, oh look i called him a solid player.

I said he can't play with it under pressure, we haven't seen that yet as the west ham midfielders are a bunch of plodders. As i said before he's a shield but a team like City will play you off the park (in terms of ball possession).

As for you'll be disappointed with your attacking, i was wrong with that you didn't need your midfielders passing it as you had plenty of attacking talent yesterday and Jose went more attacking than i expected. He did very well in playing mata, mkhi, rashford when i was expecting herrera to be in instead of one of them

 

He was also our best player against Real Madrid... what's up with their midfield?

The fact is, he's played with more freedom here because that's our club identity, free flowing and fast attacking football. We told you all it would come back but you were all insistent that the Chavbus was here with Jose and he only had one style.

I'd leave that pie for a little while to cool down, it's still very hot.

You are linked with Sergi Roberto from Barcelona and alleged have bid £36m for him - he wants to move as they have signed Paulinho for some reason.

 

While we are all getting hard ons about Lukaku, the next important step is signing the next best striker available....Zlatan.

That would be a great boost to our squad. It will give some rest if needed to R9 (as P6 calls him) or if he is imjured or suspended, goes through a bad patch, and will create competition and keep R9 on his toes. (and will keep him away from our rivals!!!)

We sign Perisic and Zlatan and we've got the squad complete.

Too early to "hand us the trophy now" but grounds for optimism. As usual, the next match is the most important. Bring on Swansea. Who made that match thread for West ham?
