Danny Rose seemingly trying to talk his way out of Spurs. He would be a great signing, he and Perisic combining on the left side would be a fantastic combination and would be just the thing to let Martial flourish as an attacker without having to think about defensive duties. We could let Spurs have Luke Shaw in exchange - something I recall we were prepared to do for Dier
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...s-move-north-calls-signings-dont-have-google/ "Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I don't want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal." Ouch. Surely that's a slap in the face for Spurs, for all their good performances over the past couple of years they still have players looking to leave to win trophies. Not a vote of confidence in Pochettino's revolution there...
I keep hearing all this news about Danny Rose wanting a move from Spurs, and according to all the ex pros on Sky, this is down to Spurs lack of ambition. It really does bug me that people can't just report it as it is. Everyone knows the main reason Rose wants a move is the fact his wages will likely be more than doubled. This is the true reason, it has nothing to do with Spurs ambition.
Aye but the two go hand in hand. Spurs paying poor wages and not spending money on players are both symptoms of a lack of ambition. Despite qualifying for the CL two seasons in a row they are still pinching pennies on salaries, which is the sign of a club that doesn't expect to keep qualifying and wants to avoid having to pay top salaries when back in the EL. Ultimately Rose is going to look at players like Walker and even Milner earning twice as much as him, and Shaw earning more despite being only 21 and be dissatisfied. Then when Spurs rub it in by failing to offer him a decent contract and not buying any players it just gets worse. If he thought he might win something next season then the salary wouldn't be as big an issue, but with Spurs going backwards the chance to double his money at a club which might be going somewhere next season is obviously too much to pass up.
I think the Spuds have seriously underestimated the impact that playing 'home' games at Wembley will have on their form. Without investing in new talent to push the squad and create competition for places I can see them faltering by mid-season and once that happens more players like Rose will be weighing up their options - perhaps even Kane.
Of the top 6 Spurs pay the least. No wonder the players want to leave when they see equivalent players getting double to what they get at Spurs. No one is saying they are a pittnace but salaries is always relative. If the majority of top actors are getting £10m per film, then an oscar winner being paid £2m would feel aggrieved. Rose I think gets paid £60k/week. Great wages youmay say but his equivalent at Chelsea or City or United would get £100k+. He at least has the courage to say what most of the Spurs stars are thinking.
That's not courage mate, that's a cry for help. He is begging people to come and get him and pay him what he is worth/the going rate.
Mourinho has confirmed we're trying to do a deal to bring Zlatan back. Lukaku, Zlatan, Rashford and Martial... Fergie always had four and those four are more than good enough to win a league title.
