With Koeman now installed I thought I'd start a thread for us to discuss the plethora of transfer rumours that are bound to now start appearing. Latest names linked Berahino and Arnautovic.
Strootman and Witsel.... Strootmans injury record not great though? I like Arnoutovic...seem to be linked to a few in the last yr of their contracts which can be good value for money
Srootman's had 3 cruciate operations - a massive swerve from me. I think Witsel is class though, but quoted at £30m and he's only got 12 months left on his contract? I agree on Arnoutovic, he's a real handful and is quite versatile as well
Now will the new guy want a big name signing? Will Koeman want a big name signing? Or will Koeman bring in players to fit the system/ideas he has in place and get a 'team' back out in the pitch?
The rumours are that Moshiri wants a 'marquee' signing I'd imagine that Koeman will just want to strengthen in areas where we are obviously weak, starting with a keeper. We need another CB, cover at RB, a DM at least 1 wide player, plus a striker whether Lukaku stays or goes, 2 if it's the latter. It's safe to say he's going to be busy this summer.
Then for me that would be Rooney, the press it would get for the club would be worth it. Its a move Rooney would make, but is it a year too late....I would say so.
The news on the streets here in the office is that Osman is Rotherham bound, especially with Derbyshire leaving The millers
I think that would tick the box in terms of the PR and profile requirement of a marquee type signing, but I agree about the timing. Wayne is on the downslope and I think he'll make a rapid descent over the next couple of seasons.
He'll do a good job in the Championship, even at 35. A great pro Ossie, the boo boys treatment of him always got my goat at Goodison.
You know my feelings on both him and Hibbo. They both have everything they had for our club every single time they played. If Ossie spent his best years behind the striker and now t on the wing we would have seen so much more from him. But Cahill and his willingness to play anywhere held him back a bit. Maybe Holgate on loan would be a good move, his family live round the corner from a bloke I work with.
Think he has shown in recent England games and the semi final he can boss a midfield like Scholes did. But we needed the goal scoring Rooney for the exposure really
Well I hope Head n Shoulders Hart isn't the marquee signing lol Mind at least Barkley and Stones have only trained out there
He had an okay season. Played a system that matched his game. But went long periods without any goals assists. An African Mirallas
Hope Koeman will breath new life into him and the squad as most of them looked stale as **** under Brown shoes
I hope he fires him off! No matter how much they didn't agree/like Bobby...... They should have given nothing but 100% for the fans.
I agree but it's difficult as his game plans were crap and we're not working so they simply lost belief in what they were doing...I'd like to know what they were thinking when he made ridiculous subs/decisions during matches etc.... Not to mention the post match interviews I just think he was seen as a joke in the end tbh
