Interesting stat on Premier league winners and managers the following season:

2015/16 Leicester win the league and the following season Ranieri is sacked
2014/15 Chelsea win the league and the following season Mourinho is sacked
2012/13 Manchester utd win the league and the following season Moyes is sacked (technically didn't win it with them).
2011/12 Manchester City win the league and the following season Mancini is sacked
2009/10 Chelsea win the league and the following season Ancelotti is sacked

 

That is very interesting but also shocking.

Its not every year but it really is shocking

 

I also saw a meme thingy earlier of Wenger, saying thats why he didn't want to win the league. Just getting top 4 keeps your job!

 

At least three of the sackings were deserved though

You are right. Only anchelottis was not justifiable.

However... it might be said that all managrs have one thing in common. Players deliberately stopped playing to get them the sack.

Anchelotti was deffo back stabbed by players.
Mancini probably was. That was roxic.
Moyes was 100%. And rightly
Mourinho was but then he engineered the revolt to get a payoff.
Ranieiri isreportedly so too


It points to players being far too powerful in owners ears.

maybe but if you've an awesome manager like moyes well.... its is very short term thinking.

In the olden days players could be broken cheaply and the man in the suit stayed. i guess its just the times but certainly it points to the fact its easy get rid of a manager in england now if you are any sort of top player.

YOu only need drop off by 10% and next thing you are out of top 4 and sacked.
