The top referees make over 100k a season.

    Getting worse every season.

It's some money for having to be mildly fit...have the ability to jog sideways and backwards, have eyes and remember rules most of the population already know for the most part.

Having said that...Did anyone see Veratti getting carded for getting on hands and knees to head the ball back to keeper? Ungentlemanly conduct using "tricks" to circumvent the law apparently....

<laugh> Its not surprising considering the money in football, though.

Heard about him having a dodgy booking, that sounds ridiculous, some referees are not fit to be refereeing at the top level.

Apparently it's considered the same as flicking the ball up with your foot and heading it back...I honestly can't see how either would undermine the rule much...in either case you'd need plenty of time to do it so clearly you'd be unchallenged..

It's not like you'd get away with doing it back and forward with the keeper to time waste without the opposition doing something about it lol..

In open play? Cahill or Terry did something similar last year and was fine?

Hull can feel hard done by here.

First chelsea goal should have been free kick to hull.

    Hull thrn denied clear pen.

2nd Chelsea goal came from free kick that Willian dived for so should have been hull free kick and yellow - although shoxking marking!

Yeah, its got to be down to the opposition to not let it happen really. Just seems like a waste of time changing the rules and giving yellow cards out for **** like that.

Lol no bias in this at all.

To be fair i heard first goal should have been a free. Heard pedro should have had a pen as well as hull.

Started watching in final 20. William qas caught by meylers swipe

I did watch the whole game...

First goal, maybe a foul maybe not, but it was near the halfway line and Hull had 10 men behind the play at that point anyway so...

Pedro Pen, 50/50 either way and ref gave the defender the benefit of the doubt.

Hull Pen, definitely, no question on that one. Wrong decision.

2nd goal/Willian, Its a sort of dive/foul. One of those where the player jumps out the way to avoid definite contact and only gets a tap. So a foul, but a weak one.

As to Hull being aggrieved, Not for me. Chelsea weren't great, but Hull were still pretty ****.

Fair play to Chelsea. They win against the smaller teams week in, week out. Something we can't do (yet). Think we'll not keep a clean sheet against this lot next week. We'd better be better going forward....

I thought Hull were decent everything considered.
The mew manager seems to have installed some defensive discipline and belief. They lost 2 men to injury don't forget and yet lost 2-0 away to Chelsea whilst being denied a blatant pen .

Video technology has to be used more frequently in the game - I'm sorry but I'm not one of the purists that loves these controversial talking points.

    Awful refereeing

Ryan Mason apparently fighting for his life after suffering a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain. Hope he pulls through.

I feared that was the case, you could actually hear a cracking sound when they collided.
Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
