He scored bugger all goals for us but I used to love watching Steed. I could imagine him sitting in a cafe before kick off chain smoking and drinking espressos.
Apart from one memorable (extremely) moment, Keyring was distinctly average, Steeeeeed had some great moments, but they were 'few and far between' and he could only last an hour (probably 'cos of his smerking habit - stupid sod ), Fatty Reid was very good (at our level), but inconsistent, and Kevin Chilblain should only ever be in a poll for the worst ever player. Magic was a great part of the best, and most exciting, team that we've had in my lifetime of supporting The Lads . . . . 'no brainer'
Magic Johnston was part of the best team we've had in a long time but Steed Malbranque is the kind of player I love.
The amount of times 'Magic' won us the game in the last few minutes, was incredible. Step over, step over, defender falls on his arse, cuts inside to the edge of the box, pinged into the top far corner. Magic
Went for steed. Too young to fully remember Johnston. If he could have found his shooting boots he'd have been ****ing mint. Best first touch and control of any Sunderland player I've ever seen. Forgot about it at the time but shouldn't Kieron have been in the poll for LB? Think he played there more for us.
Here's one . . . . following a great ball from Nicky Summerbee and a typical knockdown from Sir Niall https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WD39jUpMcRQ&ved=0ahUKEwiSuvGS1p_VAhUiJsAKHViJBjUQt9IBCFIwCw&usg=AFQjCNFhHQRKZgsOToFMTFs0ltYD6FUhUw
Magic had a good season for us at championship level then furked off when he got a better offer Steed played a few seasons for us in the prem and was a great player Steed gets my vote
