Where are the Chinese clubs getting all their money from? Large PPV deals, sponsorship, or government investment? Mind you, weren't Madrid and Barca found to be funded by the state to a degree?

The corruption in china is on a level where they need to spend the money. It comes from betting websites as the Chinese are fooking crazy for a bet. Plus they have a massive audience which probably dwarves the premier league. They will continue to spend silly money and top players will start to go because they get godlike status there.

    Dear China,

Please do not take our midfield partnership of Tiote and Colback off us. We know they are really good, but we need them desperately. I know you probably couldn't afford them anyway, but just in case we are begging you not to make the sort of bid that would tempt the club to sell.

    Lots of love,
    Newcastle.

I'm not sure that it means owt anywhere does it? It just seems to be a free for all everywhere now. The European clubs will now use the Chinese' financial muscle as an excuse to throw even greater sums of money about............... its all getting a bit silly now in my opinion.

I'm not a left leaning loony by any means but having that much financial reward attached to a sport and having it go to sportsmen that are very, very average and below average in that sport is obscene. As a society we certainly have our priorities arse about face.

Being the pouting prima donna that Ronaldo is, there's a good chance that he will take up an offer like that at some point. Look at how they had to tickle his belly when Bale became the worlds most expensive player............... poor Ronnie didn't like it at all. His vanity far outweighs his footballing skill.

    Apart from win the euros?

Messi still no1 for me (he has done little at international level)

You know what though they all rave about zlatan, hazard, Ozil, Sanchez, de Bruyne - all cracking players. I reckon however two of the best in our league are at Liverpool- they just never get mentioned. Coutinho and mane are top class. Mane in particular is massively underrated - very effective. Fast, strong, skilful, hard worker, crossing, passing, heading - kid has everything.

Given that Sky's viewing figures are supposedly down by 20% this year, the bubble might be bursting sooner than people think

I think there is a good section of people who are getting pissed off paying ridiculous monthly subscriptions for telly and are finding other ways / places to watch. I'm not surprised they havevtaken such a dip.

Not surprised at all. I quit virgin tv this year after they put my package up about 4 times in the space of 12 months. If you got to watch every one of your own team's games live then it would be fair enough, but you get a handful of games each season. **** them.
