I have never eaten anything resembling that in my life , jack fruit is an acquired taste too. You enjoyed it though
Nor had we, that's why we ordered it. Not seen it on any other UK menus of paces I've been to either. You see it a lot on American food shows and challenges. It's also a "Canadian classic" meal. I would have it again. It's a bit of a dirty, unhealthy treat. Jackfruit was strange. It kind of tasted meaty, but the texture was a bit spongy. I didn't dislike it. I wouldn't rush to order or use it in cooking.
Looks like it's off to the shops tomorrow to get some meringue nests and cream, as there are lots of ripe raspberries (red and yellow!!) on the Community Allotments.
Blackberries busting out of my greenhouse. put into a bowl of Greek yoghurt with salted cashews and honey.
Going to eat at the Farmyard tonight. Often comes high on lists of best places to eat in Norwich. Looking forward to trying it!
