With nine games remaining the Chairboys sit six points of the playoff places and now travel to the North East and Victoria Park to take on the Monkey Hangers, who have eased their relegation worries after picking up nine points in their last four games, with impressive wins at home against Crewe and Exeter as well as beating Cambridge on the road on Tuesday and now sit nine points clear of trouble. Gaz has Marcus Bean added to his sick list to go along with Stewart who is out for the rest of the season and its anyones guess when Hayes or Kashket may return, also Muller left the pitch early on Tuesday so we are hoping it was just tactical and not injury related. Although we remain unbeaten in our last four games three of those have been draws, raising are total to ten and I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't another one to all but finish off any chance we may have had of making the playoffs, but I could be wrong I often am but don't tell Mrs Wanderer I said that ! as we have only two rules in my house rule one Guy is always right rule two when Guy is wrong rule one applies
I've got this as a draw but that form you have drawn attention to is making this more like a home win. If they have beaten Crewe, Exeter and Cambridge recently, they are on a roll and that doesn't sound good to me. I would change my bet but the "bookie" won't let me
We need 10 points from the next 12 i think to stay in contention and that has to start here. Worrying signs this week from bayos social media that he may be injured, add that to kashket and you really think that someone like southwell might have to step up with the goals. Having said that this game is winnable. Hartlepool away is not simple of course but this is the sort of game that we need to win to reach the playoffs
It's funny that when you get to the arse end of the season the teams you would have picked position wise are often the ones you have to play and yet they seem to pose the most questions. Newport have suddenly found a bit of form. They have to play most of the top half a dozen before the end of the season and could yet have a big say in who does what. However, it's one fixture you would have chosen if you could have a few weeks ago. Hartlepool probably think they are now safe given the way things have gone. Their fortunes took an upturn for a few games but my guess is they will not sustain it. It's one you can win. I think the one side that is doomed to drop is Leyton Orient. That's one side I'd love us to be playing again either home or away. We cocked it up against them though. If you look seriously at the way the league has gone this term it is an unusual one. Normally by now one side would be on an unstopable rise up the league from nowhere. However, this term there have been sides that have made a dart for the light only to fall off again. You are one of those along with Exeter, Stevenage, Luton, Colchester, Mansfield at one point and you can even add Carlisle into that now. The only one who has sustained any push and at the right time is Portsmouth. You can make the playoffs easily or as easily as any of the top 9.
I agree with the comment it can go either of two ways, you only have to look at Pompey I work with two Pompey season ticket holders a few weeks ago they drew at home to Morecambe & then went on to lose to Crewe also at home, they would have happily sacked the manager, now look, & in this league teams seem to do better away.
What a stupid ****!! Like we haven't enough problems with missing players now he misses our next game
