Just seen this... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4253994/Claudio-Ranieri-sacked-Leicester.html Incredible. Gotta feel for him, considering he was balancing his side minus some key players, plus being in the Champions League. Seems like a silly decision to me.
Disgraceful! When Ranieri was appointed, the owner asked him ........... "If we go down, will you stay"? Ranieri said, "Of course I will". Since then, they have won the PL and now eight months later, the owner sacks him ..........Why the change in thinking? Greed!
Hero to zero in six months, that's football these days. Still, no-one can take away last season's amazing title win but, unfortunately, he was too loyal to players who didn't respond in kind...
I like the bloke plenty of charisma, half decent result last night but in free fall in league, can't see the point of sacking managers at this point of the season, you've got to suck & see how you end up.
You deliver an impossible title win by 10 points, get to the last 16 in the Champions league with a shout of going further, but get sacked for a dodgy period in the league. The Leicester fans I know love him and would accept relegation anyway after the miracle of last season and the European adventure of this campaign. My Fox mate is still in Seville, enjoying something I can only dream of. CLICHE ALERT "It's a results based game" CLICHE ALERT OVER
Utterly ridiculous decision. Leicester achieved something last season that they or no other club of their size will ever get close to pulling off again, and that's how he is rewarded, unbelievable.
Just imagine if we had Leicester's boardroom? We would be sacking managers every two weeks and they would already be on zero hours contracts

Claudio, appointed City manager in July 2015, led the Foxes to the greatest triumph in the Club’s 133-year history last season, as we were crowned champions of England for the first time. His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question. However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the Club’s Premier League status under threat and the Board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the Club’s greatest interest. Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City. But we are duty-bound to put the Club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be. “Claudio has brought outstanding qualities to his office. His skilful management, powers of motivation and measured approach have been reflective of the rich experience we always knew he would bring to Leicester City. His warmth, charm and charisma have helped transform perceptions of the Club and develop its profile on a global scale. We will forever be grateful to him for what he has helped us to achieve. “It was never our expectation that the extraordinary feats of last season should be replicated this season. Indeed, survival in the Premier League was our first and only target at the start of the campaign. But we are now faced with a fight to reach that objective and feel a change is necessary to maximise the opportunity presented by the final 13 games.” First Team preparations for Monday’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool will resume on Saturday, with Assistant Manager Craig Shakespeare and First Team Coach Mike Stowell taking charge of the squad until a new manager is appointed. Assistant Manager and First Team Coach Paolo Benetti and First Team Sport Science and Conditioning Coach Andrea Azzalin have also parted company with the Club and leave with our thanks for their service and best wishes for the future. The Board will now begin the recruitment process and will make no further comment until that process is completed. This was the man who managed Greece when they lost to the Faroe Islands - twice. I'm not saying Leicester didn't deserve their glory - they did - I'm saying Ranieri didn't have that much to do with it. His luck just ran out this season.
