Just read that a woman has failed for the second time to get Swiss citizenship....apparently you have to get agreement of the people in your local town/village. Their reason for blocking her application (and I quote): she's a vegan, has a big mouth and is annoying.
Occasionally, on a Saturday morning, I pop into The Brightwater, a Wetherspoon pub in Shirley, Southampton, in order to meet up with fellow Ramblers for the afternoon walk. But most of us have a late breakfast in a very good Eggs Benedict and endless pretty good Coffee for £3.99. Weetabix.? You can make Weetabix better, but you're wasting good add-ons to do so. So nah, not for me.
Suddenly, of a heart attack, seemingly. A nice tweet posted on the BBC page: Steve Brown: It's a real shame that Graham Taylor won't be able to see the affection that the country's football fans held for him. RIP
Very, very sad news. I was never a fan of Graham Taylor's "style" of football, however I was a huge admirer of his achievements. I know several Watford fans and they are rightly terribly upset. I'll always remember him for two things: 1. Turning a 4-0 first leg deficit at The Dell upside down and winning 7-1 in the second leg. 2. Watford's first season up in the old division one in the early eighties and them winning 4-1 at The Dell with Nigel Callaghan, Ross Jenkins and Luther Blissett destroying Saints that day. A sad day. RIP Graham.
My family always referred to a goalkeeper making an unnecessarily elaborate save as a Weetabix Save. Apparently based on an advert where a goalkeeper makes a save like a leaping salmon after eating Weetabix. Anyone else remember this? Anyone?
