If we don't sign someone else first, this is very bad. If we do... I'd still rather we kept hold of him until the summer. If he has to leave, I'd prefer him not to go to QPR, to be honest. Then again, if this is the missing piece of a transfer jigsaw that sees someone really good coming in, then fair enough. On the information so far, though, I'm not keen on the news.
Only if its to provide funds for a better target man. I'll be a bit concerned if both AJ and Zamora were to leave though. However being transfer deadline lets fleece QPR on the transfer fee.
Rumours are circulating that Bobby is demanding 90k a week to join QPR. Nice to see he has a good sense of humour, or is Kia Joorabchian his agent?? Also the fee is supposedly somewhere between 7.5-9m. I'd accept but only if we get the Russian bloke.
FWIW, from the Guardian. "Glendenning here to report that Sky Sources have revealed that QPR have bid £5m for Fulham striker Zamora."
£5m for him is too low especially if going to QPR, if they go closer to the £9m mark we should sell. He is 31 after all.
£9m is a good price for Bobby, given his age, recent run of injuries and doubts about how he fits with Jol's plans. But it's only a good deal if we get a good replacement. If they offered us £20m and it leaves us toothless up front, it wouldn't be a good deal. It's all about who Jol is planning on bringing in in Bobby's place.
If he wants to go and we want to sell, nothing I post on here is going to change anything! I don't want him to go, certainly not to QPR.
If the BBC said it that surely means it's not true. They love making up stories. Sky are reporting the bid from QPR was £5m so I can't see how we would have accepted a £4m offer. This can't be true.
Why is Sky any more authoritive than the BBC? Either way, £4m or £5m is too small a fee, and still no confirmation of his replacement. I have a bad feeling about all this.
