Shall we just copy & paste Swords reply?

I'll add that I enjoy reading Clive's pieces, they go very well with a cup of tea....

'QPR keep possession in their own half with such steadfast rigidity that you’d think five completed passes counts as half a goal'

Nice report, although it sounds as though Clive would like to see more "kick and rush" football. Not sure I agree although I don't like tippy tappy where the ball is kept for 10 minutes without going anywhere. A happy medium for me.
Great that Suky seems to be rather decent!

Saw a recording of the game last night and was pleased that we seemed better to me than what I read on here - no time to read Clive tho! I agree with the Ref on his back and with a yellow, Kranscjar had to go off, but otherwise he was playing in most of our most dangerous balls behind their defence, and while he's definitely had better games I thought he was a key player for us and we lost something when he went off. Hoillet's speed is something we lacked, but as usual there was no end product. I thought Clint was MOM - an immense performance, Barton was everywhere as usual, marginally at fault / or unlucky for their goal perhaps but he sorted dangerous situations many times and nearly got us an early goal - Keane should have nettted the rebound. Suk and Ravel were very good, and Ned and Hughes did Ok - Hughes had a very good cross that Keane could and perhaps should have scored his debut goal from. We looked better when BZ replaced him I thought. If BZ is on that lucky a streak, Arry should be starting him! Benny got an important goal, but for me he replicates Kransjar's general slowness without Kranscjars creativity, and we would be better off with someone with a bit more speed about them, Hoillet if there is noone better available (SWP?).

When we had HH, we could get possession in the final third in one pass, it wasn't kick and rush or hoofball if we kept possession 90% of the time.
I really enjoyed seeing him own defenders, certainly more so than watching 37 passes in our own half.

We need to be able to do both.

I was a huge fan of HH. I thought he was amazing for us but was hampered a little bit by injuries, sadly. Even in the premier league he often held defenders for hostage! He didn't look like it but he actually had good ball control and whether the ball was put to his feet or his head he would hold it up and make a swift pass, and then run on into a striking position.
Why we shipped him out at the beginning of last season I don't know. If he had the form of the previous season he could have kept us up. We may have gotten three points in several games where we only got one.
