Something I've been wondering for a while - why all the hate for Whitbread? Aside from being injury prone, what has he done wrong?
I don't hate the lad..but if your not fit for work..either go on the sick or register disabled, don't keep sky rocketing a big wedge off our club..
This, probably. He's taking a fair wage off us and is hardly playing. Plus the few games he has played, he hasn't looked great. If he managed an injury-free run, he might turn out quite good, but it's hard to get any kind of form when you're in and out all the time.
To be fair, was quality for us (especially in League 1) and was gutted when he left, but he does seem to be injured more than not. A fit Whitbread would improve any Championship team, but when he's not fit, he's a massive liability!
That's what I suggested... If he stayed fit and had a good run of games, he'd come good. But he hasn't done that for us (yet!)
I thought ****tu had a good game against us at their place. although a shocker at our place So if he plays like he did at the new den then it may not be a bad shout
You are in the minority Proud - and not because you are the only virgin on here. Nearly every team we've played have singled out ****tu as being class Even the pikey's on Saturday http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/220730-Gills-v-Wall
Back on topic for a minute - Zak Whitbread hasn't really had enough playing time with us for a 'balanced' judgement - you don't become a ****e player overnight and he seems to have done very well for Norwich in their promotion year ... but sometimes injuries can't be overcome, plenty of players have had to 'retire early' ... just hope we have him adequately insured because, quite frankly, I'm not convinced he'll ever play gain ... hope I'm wrong for the lad's sake ...
I think he's alright. Played fairly regularly up to about new year for us and looked relatively solid. My one problem is he's a bit like Morgan, not as good obviously, but an old-fashioned tackler and header. I'd rather see a defender with a bit more finesse play alongside Morgan. That's why I liked Michael Keane. Such centre backs, however, are something of a rarity and often divide opinion- you have to look at this board's discussions on Sol Bamba (I miss Sol Bamba). I also like having a left-footed centre half on the left side. I think Whitbread can be a real asset when settled into the team.
Remind me, agin - How many did Leicesters prolific strike force score against us with him marshlling the back 4 last season?
Tell me if I am wrong, did we not let Tunchev go because he had so many injuries? So we then went and signed Whitbread. I sometimes wonder what the f**k goes on in football.
