You've got to hand it to Roy Hodgson, though...

Why? He averaged 1.19 points p/game which is pathetic. The points total for teams between 7-20th is the lowest in PL history.

And look at the squad he has - he should be doing more, if anything.

We should not be hyping up mediocrity.

I'll give him credit for relegating stoke - one of my least favourite teams.

But any decent PL manager should be keeping that palace squad up as a minimum

Didn't he have something like 13 players injured at one point? Maybe deserves a little slack.

Lads....... they lost all 7 games before he arrived.

So he got 41 from 31 games.

That side had plenty of decent enough players but no heart.

He got them to defend better and play better.

    So I agree with Jat.

If the guy hadn't been 6 month at Anfield he would no be getting abuse.

    Gotta hand him what?

A primed hand grenade? A Russian nerve agent? A toaster when he's in the bathtub?

If any of the above. Yes.

If he hadn't been at Anfield for six months and bought a load of dross and discouraged the team we wouldn't have gone from regulars in the Champions League to the European wilderness for a decade.

No one has done more to set Liverpool back since Souness.

I'm watching Everton and reminded that he said it was our level and should be happy with a draw ......

Bit harsh when Rafa bought kyriakos.

Gillett and hicks and purslow are imo at fault.

    Joe Cole for example.

Yeah Hodgson went and grabbed ****e like Paulsen and konchesky but lets not saddle him with yhe blame for what g&h did to us.

Mascherano wanted to go 12 months before.

Rafa saw the end of hyppia and all he could get was kyriakos
Purslow went out and decided to get one Cole on a free on massive wages then.

Just who bought meireles, shelvey, Wilson, Jones I don't know.

Hodgson has always been a decent manager at lower clubs. Like a lot of managers, he can set up a team to defend when they are the under dogs.

Palace have a threat in Zaha, best player in lower Prem so had best chances of keeping them up.

Helps the fact that everyone else down the bottom of the league have been pants.
