Luke Dobie has left Ashton Gate to join Wigan Athletic in a permanent switch.

The Liverpudlian midfielder – who played for the Under-21s earlier in the season before a trial with Ipswich Town - moves to the DW Stadium to further his development closer to home.

Midfielder Rhys Jordan has returned to Guernsey FC on a month’s loan, having joined from the island club in the summer.

Meanwhile, Aaron Amadi-Holloway and Dylan Castanheira have both left the club.

With the exception of Dobie, it does sound like a pruning job.
Dobie must have been home sick.

Amadi-Holloway seems to have been around for years and has only made a handful of sub cameos. Either keep and use or there does come a time when its likely never to happen.
Concentrate on the likes of Burns, Reid and Bryan who will benefit from the investment put into them.

Cottrell does seem to be taking a no nonsense approach and seems to be working his squad out pretty quickly
