I'm trying to detect sarcasm re Fletch! He's been superb this season and is a team player (unlike Bent) so I think you are most defintiely on your own on that one steve
He's hardly a waste! We were desperate for a striker. I believe he is over-rated and over-priced though, definitely.
sers..... MIG Bards JOS Cuellar Rose Catts Sess AJ Gards Fletch Me I'm not convinced by any one of Ji, Campbell, Saha or Whickham up front. Whilst 'Whickham has been banging them in for fun' he's also been missing shedloads too, by all accounts.
Though I agree with your point on the price and voiced those concerns, at the time. Only time is going to prove if it was value for money, not the short time we have had so far. Fletchers goals have impressed me immensely Bent wouldn't have scored them as Bent needed 99% of his goals putting on a plate for him. Even then Bent would have missed 9 out of 10. It's the service up top that is lacking, not the forward, the best forward in the world can't score without having the ball passed to him. Fletchers first touch is something Bent could only dream about. Bentenke (Yes please Marty.) is quite rightly being chosen over Bent, as he is a much better footballer and team player. Oh and apart from that, Bent is a mercenary bastard who was trying to manoeuvre a move away from us from the start.
This! Fletcher's goal vs Fulham doesn't stand out much, but Bent could never in a million years control a ball like that
