As I've said on other threads, I prefer players playing in their best positions, so here's what I hope our line-up will be for the Fulham match:

    ----------------Cerny------------------

    Young--Ferdinand--Onuoha--Taiwo

    Taarabt--Barton--Diakite--Traore

    ------------Mackie--Zamora----------

I think Kenny needs a 'rest', Cerny surely can't be any worse. Hopefully Young will be back to give the back four it's proper shape. SWP has had enough chances, Adel can be effective on the right and Diakite should debut in our problem position. Mackie should be given a chance up front. What's your choices?

Looks good but it is yet another new team. Hughes is paid to determine whether to roll that particular die for this critical game.

    Have to look like this:

    ----- CERNY-----

    YOUNG--------FERDINAND-------ONUOHA-------TAIWO

    -------DIAKATE------

    ------BARTON------TAARABT------TRAORE

    ------ZAMORA------DJ CAMBELL

    SUBS: KENNY------GABBADINI------HALL-----SWP------BUZSACKY------BOTHROYD-------HELGUSSON------MACKIE

Like that. Some skill on the pitch and some skill and variations on the bench.........

I reckon we only bought Zamora to avoid another one like last time...although Dempsey is now banging them in <grr>

This will do for me. Although Fulham are counter-attack specialists. We cant afford to lose the ball cheaply otherwise we will get punished.

I like the look of this except i would strongly consider changing Tarbs and Joey. IMO Tarbs is better coming from a more central position. Barton has so far being lacking in the creativity department. Young has had a couple of dodgy games in a row. Its just my opinion but i think he is uncomfortable with pacey wingers running at him (then again most FBs are). Barton would add a bit more cover for him on the right wing. With Diakite in the team i think it should allow Adel to play more central knowing that if our attack breaks down and they counter quickly then we have a player sitting ready to react.

Think Mackie now prob deserves a start in next game although i am not so sure about him and Zamora upfront together. Zamora is pacey but not quick. His strengths are holding up the ball with his back to goal and linking play for those supporting him. Just don't think that Jamie is mobile or quick enough to get onto Zamoras knocks and flicks. Hope i'm wrong.

Yeah....... I just can't see Taiwo doing much there, again.

    Might as well play 5-3-2

    Kenny

    Young--Ferdinand--Onouha--Gabbiddon--Traore

    SWP-Taraabt-Taiwo

    Mackie--HH

I'd like MH to play HH all the time, until he gets tired, then bring on Zamora. I think Mackie can run out the whole match, so when SWP starts to look like a panzie bring on DJ and put Mackie back to wing. Let Tarbs run amok there and also allow Taiwo to go crazy and shoot at will as he approaches the penalty area if he has space. Then you'd still have plenty of width with Young and Traore doing what they've done so well this season by giving us a bit more on the flanks. I just think we need to plug the middle at the back. And if we did this, we don't need Joey!!!!! Hooray!!!! <laugh>

    My team would be

    Kenny

    Young Ferdinand Onuoha Taiwo

    Diakate

    Smith Mackie Taarabt Traore

    Zamora

SUBS: Murphy Hill Buzsaky Betty Helguson (If fit) Barton, SWP POSS Derry (depending on HH passing fit test)

Those behind Zamora would be on shoot on sight of goal, plus hopefully following up on BZ's flicks etc etc

Sooper! I like your team. I'm a bit unsure about Young as he has let his man get in behind him and given away goals lately, but probably you are right we need his experience. I'm also unsure about Anton, he has not looked safe at all for me since the Chelsea game, and think Hall is a better bet now. So alternate for me is to keep Onouha at RB, and bring Gabbi in as stopper with Anton or Hall.

Good team Sooper, Gabbidon for Ferdinand and we should be ok.

    ----------------Cerny----------------
    Young---Onouha----Gabbidon---Traore

    ----------------Diakite---------------
    Barton-------------------------Taiwo
    ---------------Taarabt---------------

    ----------Mackie-----Zamora---------

With the pace of Onouha, Gabbidon and Traore we should be able do defend against Fulham's counter attacking tactics.

With your back 4 Norway, and otherwise, wouldn't we be a bit short in the air? Not sure whether Fulham replaced Zamora or not, but they have some other big lads, I'm thinking in particlar of the one that comes from these parts, Hangeland! Think we need one of Hall or Ferdinand.

Point taken, must be Hall then as Ferdinand and Onouha is the same height. Hopefully MH will find the right balance, after all he should know Fulham's strenghts better than most.

Not bad at all. Agree SWP to the bench. Bring him on in the last quarter if necessary. May be Helguson on in the second half too.

I would prefer Adel in the middle, so my team would be:
    ------------------Kenny----------------
    Onouha - -Ferdinand - Gabbidon - Traore
    ------------------Diakite---------------
    SWP-------------Taarabt---------Taiwo
    --------------Mackie--Zamora----------
I'm sure MH will play Barton, so you could swap him for SWP!!
