    Hi guys, Hammers fan here,

Have a big soft spot for Arsenal as my Grandad supports them and i love the way you play football. My question to you is, when everyone is fit what would be your strongest line up?

Cheers and best of luck for the season!

What would we have if we were in charge or what will it be?
    Personally:
    ---------------RVP----------------
    -------------Arshavin-------------
    Gervinho---------------------Walcott
    ----------Arteta---Song-------------
    Gibbs---Vermaelen-Mertesacker--Sagna
    -------------Szczesny----------------
Bench: Fabianski, Koscielny, Santos, Coquelin, Wilshere, AOC, Park

The only reason Wilshere is on the bench is that I feel Arteta would be more effective in that role.

    What we will play:
    ------------RVP---------
    Gervinho------------Walcott
    -------Arteta--Wilshere-----
    ------------Song-----------
    Gibbs--Verm-----Kosc---Sagna
    -----------Szczesny------------

I can't see how Wilshere could be left out in any event bar injury, he is our most capable player and outstanding at ball retention and recovery of lost posession. He also could be used more effectively in an attacking sense now that Fabregas has left, as his ability is second to non of our current midfielders and really will only improve.

I would consider Walcott as a central striker and RVP playing behind with OXO in Walcott's place on the wing and Arshavin being pushed to the bench, for me that team would have more directness as RVP is not an out and out striker, despite how well he has performed the role.
Aside from that your team for me is fine, I am waiting to see how Santos performs before I would consider him ahead of Gibbs, who let's face it is pretty ordinary in most aspects.

Arteta would be playing a Xabi Alonso role as a deep lying playmaker. This is the role he played at youth levels for Barcelona and for large chunks of his professional career. Jack Wilshere is an AM. He'd be better coming on for Arshavin than Arteta.
