So we've all imagined our perfect goal (or is it just me ?! )

    So for your perfect goal here is the all important question;

Does it clip the post / crossbar on the way in or go clean in as close as it gets without touching the woodwork?
What the answer tells us about your mentality I'll let others debate!

For me it's clean in, top right corner, like a bullet!

GET IN THERE! PICK THAT OUT!

got to admit rooney's overhead kick was stunning but has anyone seen either roberto carlos' or jay-jay okocha's freekick where they smash it with the outside of their boot?

Fu.king right he did Denny. Also, it it hadn't taken a deflection before it got to him, he'd have been completely out of position <ok>

  6. I think there is a difference between a fantasy goal (good on the eye) and a perfect goal.

Suarez's goal against Stoke this weekend was too far off perfection for me. Stoke didn't do anything wrong defensively but we still scored by basically passing well and taken a great chance by putting the ball in the corner.

For pure strikes then you would look at goals like highlighted above but I wouldn't say they were perfect. I guess I am saying a perfect goal is one that the opposition can't do anything about.

I'm a big fan of the Torres/Henry-esque side foot finish...

My perfect goal is when the whole team is involved, building up nicely, keeping possession, passing and moving, creating the space and then one pass that unlocks everything, play in the striker who side foots it past the keeper.

I think the goal against Wolves last season (scored by Torres) is a good example (minus the finish)...

I am more about the pass before the goal actually, so I love thread the needle type stuff. Trying to find some better ones, but there are some peaches in this vid. I hate to say it but the 3rd goal against us ( kaka to Crespo) is just about perfect, threads a perfect ball by about 3 of our players and crespo just as cool as you like over Dudek. We won though so no big deal <ok>

Probably why I loved Alonso so much, he could make those types of passes.

There is one I am trying to find of Gerrard touching the ball by someone down the left and with the outside of his boot slipping Torres in, another one that I just ****ing loved!!

What I would give for a player who can cross like that ... and more importantly, a player who can run into the box and head it!

Definately - I think we need a playmaker to sit along side Lucas and our central midfield will be complete.

    Javi Martinez/Banega anyone?

Those are the big two I think we should really go after but I also think a Strootman ( PSV), Moutinho ( Porto) , Defour ( ? Liege?) would be really good as well.

I remember when the likes of Man Utd were scouting Defour but things have gone quiet since?

Exactly, same with Moutinho and Chelsea, Marin with everyone, not a bad thing if it goes quiet, might mean we can get them a bit cheaper instead of them being the "now" person and paying way over the odds.

my fantasy goal would not be an unstoppable thing that a keeper tries in vain to reach s i watch from 30 yards.... my fantasy goal would involve beating every player and leaving the keeper falling on his ass and i back heel the ball into the net having already celebrated my own brilliance in making the look that bad.
