Conn's book are pretty good, but they are a historically inaccurate to the extreme. He admits that he has been economical with the facts for the purpose of his own yarn-spinning, but some of his flights-of-fancy are a bit hard to accept. Pressfield is better with the facts, but his stories are clunky and tiresome. My books are far better, if you like the plague-era of 1348-1352.
