Just been listening to Radio 5 Live. They said if there was a Mount Rushford for Football, Johan Cruyff would be on it.

This got me thinking. Who would your 4 footballers be who should be immortalised as a giant stone-carved head on a mountain. I think my 4 would be (but I'm willing to be swayed)....

    Cruyff
    Pele
    Bobby Moore
    Messi

Not Maradona 'cos of his cheating and drug abuse, I never saw the likes of Puscaz, Duncan Edwards or Matthews.

    Over to you lot

    George Best

It would also be named Mount Rashford <ok>

Maradona, Best, Matthews Di Stefano. I was a big admirer of Ferenc Puskas but, at the birth of Balon D'Or, Puskas was placed fourth, two below Di Stefano. (The top five that year were, in order, Matthews, Di Stefano, Kopa, Puskas and Yashin).

With the utmost respect my friend, Charlie Hurley, Brian Clough, Len Shackleton and Jimmy Montgomery would have to lay claims to be in Sunderland's top 4. I could add more like Bobby Kerr and Jim Baxter but some of the great Sunderland players were really great and hard to split. For my book, Charlie Hurley was the greatest centre man I ever saw.
Sorensen is currently playing here in Australia for Melbourne City and is currently the top goalkeeper for the number of saves he has made.

World wide I would have to say Pele, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Best with Cantona close.

British would have to be Matthews, Best, Charlton and Dixie Dean.

    Just my opinion.
