Your most unlikely accident

Daft one. Liverpool's owner released from hospital after fall from yacht. Very unlikely accident for most of us. What would be the most unlikely accident you (or another person) would be involved in. Mine would be tripping over cord whilst vacuuming (hate housework).

I think opening a door on my foot and scraping all the skin off the top is the worst i've done!

Football related; I remember when Spanish goalkeeper Santiago Canizares missed the entire 2002 World Cup because he dropped an aftershave bottle on his foot!

Tripping over myself, and crashing off the treadmill in Fitness First

Suffered a concussion when the wind blew a wooden window frame out and straight on to the top of my head. Also sliced by calf rather badly (have quite an impressive scar) because my reaction when a metal bed frame fell over was to attempt to catch it with my leg for some reason. Still haven't figured out an alternate explanation (knife fight with a toddler, perhaps?) that wouldn't seem nearly so silly.

Was putting the hoover away having just done the vaccum-cleaning. Was standing up with the plug loosely in the hand, having taken it out of the socket, and had my foot pressed down on the button the sucks the cord and plug back into the hoover. However I was also watching TV at the time, so was slightly distracted. Before I knew it the cord had yanked the plug out of the hand, at full speed, and on it's way down the plug connected with the groin area!

I think I landed on the floor quicker than the plug did! I think it was more painful than a football.

working in a dairy, went to pick an empty bottle from a crate but it was an oversized bottle, pulled the bottled extra hard and away it came, the bottom of the bottle fell off and made a little cut in the other wrist, thought nout of it, a few mins later the blood turn on like a tap, could not stop it, went to hospital, they xrayed the cut to see if there was an glass in it, they asked me to open my hand but i could not, i had served several tendons, ended up with an operation, four months off work and a 6 inch scar from my wrist towards my elbow

I was drinking in the Jolly Sailer, down at Swanick many years ago. I decided to go outside and smoke some of the naughty stuff with a mate (a Pompey fan and the only one in the group) and thought I'd go and look at the water at the bottom of the pontoon (River Hamble) as I'm strangley drawn to water! Tide was out, so the floating pontoon was abviously at an angle. It was also December (christmas ) and very cold.

After I took a few steps onto the pontoon, I slipped on the ice instantly in comedy fashion onto my back and proceeded to slip down and down towards the mud and seaweed. I corrected myself, tried to grab the handrail, pulled myself up bit slipped again, and it went on After some time I inched my way up to reacquaint myself with the Skate (instead of the ones in the sea) who (and who can blame him) was still laughing. When he stopped, he said 'that was one of the funnyist things I've ever seen'. I couldn't argue with that, as some things transcend football rivalvries!

So not only was what I did ridiculous, it was witnessed and enjoyed by no other than a Skate.

Was swimming off the side of a boat in Greece, when a catamaran flew past and shook the boat. A ladder fell onto my head. For a split second I saw it coming and was able to soften the blow. Probably would have killed me otherwise. We still laughed about it.

When I was a kid I used to play at parachute jumping (without a parachute) off our garage roof onto the back lawn. Once there was a ladder propped up against the garage which caught in my jeans leg which resulted in (a) me hitting the lawn head first, followed by (b) the ladder hitting me on the back of the head as it fell.

Another time I was cycling home from school holding my duffle bag in my hand because the cord had come away from the bottom of the bag. I was freewheeling down a hill when the bag swung into the front wheel, stopping the bike dead. I went straight over the handlebars, hitting the road with my forehead more or less at the same time as the bike landed on top of me.

Some of you might have spotted a pattern developing here...
