With our transfer action reportedly done, who would you call to be our most vital player this season. Not necessarily best, but the player who could have a big impact in our season? For me it has to be Ramirez, I know this will be a popular answer but from what I've seen from him he is a total game changer. ur biggest signing ever. Whatever happens this season, strap in and enjoy the ride!
Ramirez will be big, but for me Lambert's ability to perform in the premier league will be extremely important. Not just for goals but for support play for Ramirez and Mayuka
Yeah, Lambert's ability to step up will be vital. If he doesn't manage it [and I have a huge deal of confidence that he will], then it will take a big rethink on Adkins part to cover for his usual input of goals. Personally, I think Rickie is going to take the PL by storm, but only if he is allowed to be the same striker as he has been all along, since he has played for Saints. In my opinion, Nigel has to believe in his ability to be virtually unplayable as a CF. He takes up brilliant positions, and I think he'll get the edge on every CB he plays against, simply because his football brain is so acute. He may find interview words hard to come by, but his footballing brain is superfast.
Down the spine of the team. Davis, Morgan and Lambert need to have good solid seasons. The flair can be provided by Lallana and the new boys. Hopefully Yoshida can be the Jos of last season.
I think it has to be Lambert as you need plenty of goals to stay in this league. We are sure to concede plenty but we may survive if we score plenty.
I really have no idea at this stage and with all these new faces. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Mayuka is going to really be something a bit special.
I have just imagined Adam Lallana not being being good enough for Southampton FC. Now there's a thought..!
I don't understand why people say this, he is pretty smart, it's just his scouse accent that makes him sound dumb.
I agree, I think he's actually quite eloquent for a footballer! Certainly one of our better interviewers.
You mistake me. I don't think for a moment that Rickie is dumb. He's a perceptive chap, but not everybody is the quickest to give their views during interviews, or to say how they feel. Rickie's footballing brain is as quick as the quickest and as the maestro MLT himself has been known to shout... there's only one Rickie Lambert..! What higher praise can I add.
I've got to go with Ramirez. I can see our relegation odds getting lower after this signing and I think he'll be the type of player who can always make something happen in the game. We'll need him to perform if we want to stay up.
You have to build from defence..it's easier for the forwards if the defence have done their job. Going for Yoshida as I hope he will have a positive effect and bring out best in Fonte and Jos. Also think Makuda could be the one. I'm looking forward to seeing Gaston, but think he might take a little longer to settle into the team. I'm expecting flashes of brilliance in between getting caught with the ball. Has a price tag round his neck, so we must give him time.
An u18 lad just gave an interview on Player...if 'good' and 'great' were eliminated from the English language he would be struck dumb
