Im not wumming, you will find out soon enough, just thought youd like to know, the decision to go for him you wont be surprised to know comes from the owner not the manager Atletico want cash only deal
Surprising though it may seem. Torres is actually on a career best ratio since joining Chelsea. Not only that but he's got 14 goals so far this season... And counting. Pretty worth it based on that. Anyway. It's. about time we got one of Athleticos strikers first. We've been beaten to the punch twice for world class strikers.
Talks are well into negotiations now. Abramovich is prepared to make Falcao our top earner by offering Falcao £200,000 a week which is £10million a year contract. Falcao is definitely the best option for us. About time we beat a team and sign a top striker from Atletico Madrid. They develop quality centre forwards, Torres, Aguero and Falcao.
They didn't produce Falcao, they bought him from Porto to replace Aguero. He was Porto's main man under AVB when they won the Uefa Cup. The only one of those strikers you could say Atletico 'produced' is Torres
We've actually played against Falcao before the UEFA Super Cup, back in 2009 in the group stages of the Champions League. He made his European debut against us with Porto in a 1-0 win at their place courtesy of Anelka. Came on as a second half sub. He then played the whole match in the game at the Bridge which again ended 1-0 to us thanks to Anelka. Funny enough he also played against Atletico Madrid as they were also in the group with us that season.
Why would we want Falcao when Torres can't stop scoring ???? Buy a controlling midfielder and watch the goals fly in. Luiz has shown us the way. Nero the Roman Emperor, stay out of player selection.
Torres is average at best, just because he scored 1 good goal yesterday, it doesn't all of a sudden make him a top player again. Most of his previous goals have been deflections and tap ins, or meaningless goals when your already 3-0 up. Top strikers score when the game is tight at 0-0, and Torres hasn't been doing that. If you were to get Falcao you would be a far stronger side, as he is a far more talented player, and as you found out in the Super Cup, can take a team apart on his own. You would have to considered strong title challengers next season if you were to get him
I'm still not convinced re Torres tbh =-even if he is firing on all six we still need options. Top team needs a couple of top guys in form up front and a couple of backup options for injuries and 'lesser' games.
