Excellent season. We haven't been relegated, and we haven't sacked our manager. Even though we are still massively in a learning process (new manager, young team etc), we are still one of the most exciting teams in the division, have managed to get four of our players in the England squad, and are going to finish top half. If we carry on this rate of progress, we won't have to wait long for something to show for all the progress.

That's one way of looking at it. The way I see it is that we rarely fail to score, but we often fail to keep a clean sheet, and often the goals we concede are entirely preventable.

This is a great post. There is a flip side or positive spin to every negative and probably why I end up having "debates" with other posters here, as I usually look for that more positive spin. Focusing on positives while being aware of the negatives is healthier and keeps your skin smoother :)

A very good, simple, concise post PTF that shows clearly there is always another view.

Preseason it was a must to stay up. Obvious I know. Not my target but an absolute must.

I wanted above 14th comfortably and by this I meant not number of places, but being there safely before season end rather than scrambling to finish there or above; that would have been a slight improvement from last year.

I predicted 8th - 12th as I believed we could do that.

As the season progressed, my expectations remained the same but my hopes kept dreaming of a higher glory that never came. How can I be anything other than pleased with what we seemed to have achieved.
