According to Martin Samuel, Stevie's best England game was v Andorra in 2007.

I'd say Frank's best time was in Euro 2004 (England player of the year), World Cup qualifiers 2006 and ironically Bloemfontein when he single-handedly tried to bring England back in to the game, hitting the bar and having a disallowed goal.

Yet Woy wants these guys to carry on now: several years past their best.

My European friends can't understand why an unfulfilled player like Gerrard got 113 caps and serial winner Scholes only 66... and we want Gerrard to continue! No wonder we are such losers in international football

. <laugh> Get ready for Frank vs Failure: Who was better for England thread, when hopefully they both have the dignity to retire (2 years too late).

To be fair: usually I focus on Spurs' failings, but Gerrard's choking has just been too much fun this year.

With Liverpool full time next season, our focus should go back to Mocking spirs
