Although I have been listening to, and enjoying music all my life, I recall the feeling I got when I first heard this album, (or L.P. as it was known as at the time!) and I can trace that as the first time I properly fell in love with music. It's a wonderful feeling when you feel like you could explode with joyemoticon-0111-blush) at the sounds filling your ears... ...I was 9-years-old and the album was: please log in to view this image What was your 'breakthrough' album or single?

The 1980's get a great deal of stick for some reason but when you consider that electronic music was exploding all over the world, it was a very exciting time in musical history. I'm delighted that groups like Human League & Depeche Mode are still going strong - long may it continue...
My first amazing album wasn't mine. My friend gave me a lend of a Queen album (I can't remember which one) which I recorded from CD to tape. That is when I fell in love with music.
I really like the music of Queen - being a child of the 80's I tended to prefer the stuff from that era... Radio Ga Ga etc but it was all pretty good.
First album I bought with my own money was Urban Hymns, still one of the finest in my MP3 collection.
My first was by a little known singer/songwriter called James McFuddin it had a haunting melody with a great hook. Called "I love you so ****ing much I could just ****" It didn't do much in the charts?
Can't remember my first album but I suspect it was Buddy Holly. My first records were 78s, then 45s and EPs.
