Hello boys, No need to mention the disappointing result yesterday. Wolves are no pushovers though, they're not going to be relegated, I'd say their results have been far worse than their performances, so really not too surprised that you didn't come away with anything. I wanted to ask you guys about something else. I don't think Cattermole can be club captain any longer. He's probably on his way out anyway, I don't see him as a MON type player. He's banned again next week so I'm wondering you you guys think will be, or should be the new captain. I'd give it to Richardson personally. He's been with you for a while and at least he does positive stuff for the team. I don't see how Oshea or Brown should be awarded with the captaincy, they haven't performed as well as expected and i somewhat feel there's a bit of a rift in your team between the old boys and the new boys. I wouldn't be surprised if MON went for someone like Petrov in January. You need someone in the middle of the park to run the show at this moment in time I think that is your biggest problem, even more so the lack of strikers or left wingers or left back cover. That said of course a striker is an absolute must come january.
I would have give it to Brown as soon as he walked through the door, and still would. If you do 5 things a match the chances of making a mistake are slim, if you do 50 things and run the defence yourself, the chances of making a mistake get a lot higher.
From what I've seen you've looked pretty solid at the back, and Barsley was out for his 4 match ban. From what I saw it's been more a case of "oh duh that was unlucky" with quite a few of your goals. On the other hand, you'd expect O'Shea and Brown to have an immaculate understanding after playing together for so many years. Does anyone actually know what O'Sheas best position is? He took over from Phil Neville being SAFs utility guy and I don't recall him starting too many games at CB for ManU.
^^ i said that before we bought O`Shea, jack of all trades, master of none, and its turning out to be the case im afraid.
No idea who should be team captain...(wasn't zenden club captain before he was deemed of little use).. If i had to make a choice right now...i'm going...going...Bardo.. How-ever in reality it should be either of the ex Man U lads,
Hmm I guess some clubs have club captains and others have team captains. Alan Smith was our club captain for a whole while. Great idea that was. Who's been captain when Cattermole wasn't playing?
Cats was team captain, in the normal sense of the term.. Zenden was club captain...what that entailed..pass.
I didn't phrase that well. I'll try again: who was wearing the armband in the few games that Bruce has dropped Cattermole? From how i always understood was the club captain is the old guy who was is injured, can't really play but goes to visits school and does all the publicity ops for the club.
As outsider looking in, surely the captain will be Brown or O'Shea. Personally I would think O'Neill will go for Brown, can't see him being too impressed with Cattermole getting a silly little yellow card to put him out of the Blackburn game and the fact he was fortunate not to give away a needless penalty in the first 10 minutes.
It is likely to have entailed Zenden making up for Cattermoles lack of suitability for the captains role. Brown is the man with champions league experience, a player people look upto and respect. He isn't perfect and has made a couple of mistakes but his overall impact since arriving has been very good. I'd give Brown the armband.
Belive it's been O'Shea mate, when fit... What will MoN do? Can't say, but honestly believe Catts will lose it...i may be wrong, but i do believe he's a stickler for discipline..
