SOD was asked a question in his Interview today if he knew who his best team was. He couldn't answer as I still don't think he is 100% As fans our opinions differ on who should be in our starting line up. Who would you have in yours?
Maybe just his way, but SOD looked a bit hacked off to be losing his best 2 players in that interview. Time maybe for Sir Steve to give the club a preseason lift by stomping up a decent signing.

We've been playing 4-2-3-1 a lot in pre-season. Can see this being our main formation due to the players we have. The team is pretty much built around JET at the moment

Actually I think we may see several formations apart from 4-4-2 and 4-5-1. As Shiny said, we have played 4-2-3-1 - we also played a back 3 against Rangers. I could also see us playing a diamond with JET at the point of it. Likely to be fairly fluid system wise because JET will be given a free role. SoD will NEVER say what his best XI is in an interview. Also there are likely to be one or two comings and goings this week.
I think the best team will depend on who we get as the striker if it is a free transfer then we will almost certainly sign Pack if not then due to SCMP we would probably sign Woods all due to the problems of dealing with the 60% However if someone was to make an acceptable bid for Albert everything changes we would be able to get whoever (within reason) we wanted as a striker sign Pack and Woods and still have a chunk of money in the bank. The problem that I think all clubs are having with the SCMP in L1 and L2 is not what it says but what it does not say for instance there is no mention of bonus payments for getting promotion or goals scored in a season etc are those covered under SCMP or not the Football League make no mention of these things at all. I hope the Football League are more forthcoming to the clubs or it will be a total shambles because no one will have any idea as to what is or is not allowed. OK back to the thread The back 5 is sorted and so are two of the midfield places ie Fielding Moloney Flint Williams/Fontaine Cunningham Midfield atm only Wagstaff and Jay E Thomas are nailed on starters a lot depends on what if anything happens to Albert. up top at the moment Baldock seems certain to start but that could change depending on two things who we sign and how many we play up top. I can see us switching between 4-2-3-1, 4-4-1-1 and 4-3-1-2 depending on the opposition and who we sign. Baldock started as captain against Rangers and Reading, that would imply to me he's going to be playing home and away Hawk, with the captains arm band.
