8 young players including Cameron Coxe have been told they have no future with the club. WoL reports they will be allowed to run down their contracts and look for new clubs. Coxe's father has apparently confirmed this. It is a pity but confirms my thoughts that a number of them are just not good enough. Harris said Coxe, who was given a couple of chances in the cups, needed to find a loan in Div. 1, 2 or National League to get game time but that did not happen, for whatever reason. It also underlined why we signed Sanderson on loan when Pelts left rather than rely on Coxe as cover. If Jazz is released in May then we will need to find 2 rb's in the summer.
Wow, big call. He seems quite highly thought of in other quarters, just not with us. Been here before......
Any youngsters worth their salt have gone out on loan. The rest haven't. Management see these guys in training every day so know what they can or cannot do. I agree Smith and Sanderson should get their chances very soon but perhaps not in the same game. It is pointless playing youngsters who will not be good enough. That would be demotivational for them and the rest of the squad.
